Thread: Question about vendors.

Hey all, I have a quick question about vendors and I thought I would ask my fellow bio-engineers.

Can merchants give rights to others to use their vendor? I am wasting valuable skill points just having Novice artisan and Business boxes just to have a vendor (15 points for novice, 9 more points to get to business III for a vendor, that's 25 skill points).

I don't see why merchants can't place a vendor, give admin rights to users for it and take a cut of the action. Meaning they get 5 percent of all items sold on their vendor, or whatever percentage they want. Unless this is already in the game and I just didn't know about it.

Seems like it would make sense that merchants could setup their own personal Bazaars (Without the lame 3k cap) and make profits from it.

Here's what I usually do in a case like this, for example sake.

Let's say I craft 5 mildly experimented Stim A's and want to sell them on a friends vendor. She's already aware of this, so it's been arranged in advance for things of this sort (and we do this on a regular basis also with vitality packs, etc.).

I go to her vendor, and using the "Offer to vendor" screen I "sell" my Stim A's at my asking price minusa little bit for the sake of convenience, so I put these up for 400 cr each per offer. She comes by and accepts each of those offers - I automatically make 400 cr then for each one she accepts. She then puts them on her vendor directly for 700 cr each, making a profit of 300 cr each minus vendor maintenance costs which are, to say the least, not pretty these days.

Works out well for both of us. I can make a little more selling on the bazaar, but not as conveniently.

Hmm, that is a good idea. But the merchant would need to have some capital to pull it off, right? I assume the 400 you get paid comes from her.

I never thought about doing it this way, and it seems like the same thing I was talking about, just in a round about way.

Come on SOE, why wouldn't a Merchant be able to setup a vendor and let other people sell from it, making a percentage of it. Seems like a good way for a merchant to make some money.

It is vaguely unsastisfying though, and much less profitable. If you give the middleman a cut (and you should), then you are making less for the same effort. Pluss, there are only so many things you can have offered at one, and it cuts into what you can sell at bazaars.

I'm going to have to give up guns entirely if I want master CH, BE and a vendor. Its pretty crappy.
