anyone know that when the new creature system goes in if it will change already existing dna? Or, shall I just stop sampling and wait until the patch?

Old DNA will not work. Makes sense if you think about it.

I figured just checking, also I hate the fact that to get any real good dna I have to become a Ranger, dont see other crafting classes requiring something else to get their resources.

Wait a min, so all the DNA I have now will be useless after the patch? I sure hope not, I have a ton of DNA.

Not really stupid, its to stimulate the economy, it may not work 100%, but its a nice thing. They wanted to make everyone dependant on each other, and they have done a decent job.

They don't want a verticle business (Where 1 person/company conotrolls all the process from resources to production to sales)

Excuse me if I'm misunderstanding this, but I'm not a BE. My understandingis as follows:while Doctors, Architects, etc, depend on players in other professions to supply components (ie: Architects have to get cloth from Tailors); Bio-engineers will actually have to learn Ranger skills to collect high level samples. That's a little different from player cooperation. If a Ranger can help a BE with this task, please explain how. Thanks.

This isn't what he meant... I can completely see the problem. Anyone can harvest resources for a Doctor, but only a Bio-Engineer can sample DNA for a Bio-Engineer. With that in mind, the only way to get close to high CL aggros to take DNA is to have maskscent/camo.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought there was something rangers could make to mask people's scent for them.....is this what he means by being dependant on the profession? Or is he saying we're dependant/going to be dependant on ranger as a support profession for ourselves? Like we need to take up ranger. Personally, I did that so I could track animals and collect more meat from them. Not that it helps all that much when I have no combat but still, a few extra meat here and there add up. I think there is a lot of profession interdependance in the game, and in some ways it's a little annoying to not be able to pick exactly what you want to be in order to be the best at one of your professions. I would suggest making some really good tissues for maskscent/camo, and get a tailor to make you some clothes with them. Don't know exactly how much that will actually help, but it is one way to try to beat the system.
