Thread: Do NOT move around when taking DNA samples
Just a little tip I thought i'd share here. I've noticed that dna sample quality is consistantly lower if you move around while taking the sample. This can be overcome by staying still both as you take the sample and when it completes however it is generally better to just stand still. Odd situation here btw, average dna and v high dna from the same species when put into clones appears to give the same results in terms of just 'cloning' a wild animal. The Arachne hatchlings I made were all CL15 and are CL18 in the wild. I'm gonna check to see if the Angler body has a minimum cap of CL15. The nice thing is that the resistances copied over completely and could be boosted as well, that basically means a bio-engineer can copy a wild animal exactly but it'll be a lower CL rating despite being a duplicate.
No minimum capp appears present according to Talths website. That means the average dna didn't make the CL any worse. However one thing to note is that I didn't experinment on the resistances for the one made with v high quality dna. I'm gonna see if the caps for experimentation are determined by the dna meaning that higher quality dna gives more room for experimenting on the template.
I'm not sure how much this rates true.
My alt is a Master BE, and sitting on his floor with packs and station surrounding him, I jab the ones in my inventory and get anything from average to very high quality....without so much as standing up.
