can someone point me to a guide or jsut post some info on the whole recipe idea? I mean, do you just grab it from high level critters? does it matter which one? how do you change color? range attack? Im just really confused, I just though DNA+meat = critter......halp ma!

No, Meat+DNA+Flora Food=critters. You can change the color like you would anything else. Recipes are special ways that make creatures better, and have good stats.
