Thread: **About Old Furniture Pets** SERIOUS, SEVERELY UNBALANCING BUG!
These are now tameable. Go ahead; try taming an old blurrg that was previously furniture. You'll notice that his stats (armor/HAM/resists/damage) did not take a hit like other creatures and the various animals that were/were not pets at the time of the creature balancing. My theory is that the system saw that they were great pets (ie, should have high CLs), but that they were not "active," and as such it took them to be harmless (ie, CL = 0, which is what they are until they reach adulthood).
What's disturbing is that these pets have a full-grown CL of...1. That's right: full-grown CL is 1. ANY pet that was furniture at the time of the creature balancing is this way. I've got two gurrecks that used to guard to door to my house that I can call...AT THE SAME TIME. This needs to be fixed, and fast. It is REALLY unbalancing to be able to call 2 12K HAM, armored, resistive, and 600+ damage pets that should be CL = 50ish...simultaneously. I was hesitant to say anything, but I've thought about it and come to the realization that the devs need to get on this like a duck on a beetle.
As a recap: pets that were furniture when the creature balancing occurred did not suffer any stat hits at all; the only thing that was reduced is the CL. Hope this is helpful, and I REALLY hope the devs fix this problem really soon.
PS - I've not been able to tame the kimo I had made prior to the balancing, so maybe (hopefully) not ALL the pets are like this. It may be that I simply lack the CL max to do it; either way, someone needs to fix this or we might just have 16K HAM/armored/insane resists/1400ish damage kimos running about...
Oh well...I hate to play the part of Chicken Little, but this really is an unbalancing thing, sports fans...
I noticed this back when the BE 'fix' first went in. Reported it and it got fixed a couple of weeks later. Then the bug re-appeared a couple of weeks ago.
I quite regularly see people pulling 100+ levels of pets out (I think mainly to get high level missions).
Quite galling really, since I have deliberately avoided this exploit, despite having several dozen pre-patch Blurrgs, rancors, etc. Ihave also manually avoided the 'BE pets don't count against datapad limits' bug that allowed me to have 25 pets on my datapad before I noticed it............
I'm sure my reward for not exploiting lies in heaven (sure as heck isn't in evidence here).
I have reported on this several times. And tested it with multiple pre-christmas patch BE pets. If you had the CL1 as the last of your three pets it acts as a CL1. As anything but that and its a CL50. A non-CH can not call it. Nor anything less then a master since to the system itsa CL50 Blurrg. BUt it allows you to have 69 levels + 50 out at the same time. I did have 2 at one point but i didnt call them both at the same time to see what i would get CL levels wise.
This is an exploit. Even if the devs havent come out and blantantly said it wasnt a bug. It is. It is obviously not the way the game was meant to be played. As well as being an unfair advantage.
If you are, or know someone who is using this exploit--I'd stop them now...it's not worth getting banned over. The Devs may track the usage of this exploit as they did the slicing one. Although I don't agree with banning ppl because they used an imperfection in the Dev's code for personal gain, the fact remains that they have done it, and probably will do it again.
BTW, I have a pre-patch Kimo--still not tameable--as an MCH it says I lack the skill, so it's out of range it appears. I don't even think it's all that powerful, I mean 1k+ damage and 14k HAM isnt too much is it?LOL...I just wanted to see what the baby level would be--1.4k HAM and 100 damage...hmmmm....CL10?LOL
