you will need it, over and over - it seems to be a really difficult concept for non-BE to grasp, but the Template controls the stats, the body type is window dressing, running speed and animations, period. You can have a light armored 60% Kinetic 500 damage tybis just as easily as you can a kimogila, and the CH that asks for one deserves it, just for having the style to have something other than the rancor-of-the-month.
The DNA I used was all 5 Bull Rancor on the first pass, and resampled in 1,2 and 5 on the second, with Surefoot Brackaset in 3 and 4 for some higher resists. Also, if it was Ayris that was looking for it, be prepared to hear from him every 20 minutes until it is finished, hehe.

Bark mite queen, Merek harvester, bark mite, Queen merek ( for poison spray on attack) , queen merek again .
Thats the hybrid dna you will need. You need 2 samples of this pet, it should result in a 60% kin, 40% energy, high ham, poison attacks, light armor ( of cause ). Ranged attack. Create it, do nuna skin. ( those samples are hybrid samples)
Now your goana make the thing :
Frenzied - Mutant - Mutant - Hybrid - Hybrid
You can also do Mutant - frenzied -mutant. depends a bid on all the other resistance stats you want...
Also note, this will not give your pet ranged attack, you can do another hybrid :
Good rancor or frenzied, Good rancor or frenzied, Merek queen, merek queen or bark queen , Merek harvester.
Frenzied - Mutant -Hybrid ( 2) - Hybrid(1) - Hybrid (1)
This will get you ranged , cool specials, cool resistance, but not 70 CL
