Schematic numbers vary by character. They are only the same if you have the same spec in crafting professions as someone else. For example two Master BE, that do not have any other crafting profession will have the same Schematic numbers. But a Master BE + Master Doctor would have a much different set of schematic numbers. You will also run into this problem between being at/away from a crafting station (well... not BE, but other crafters).

But here is a good way to find out the schematic number if you're mixed in multiple crafting professions.

1) Establishing a baseline by entering a random schematic number, like say 20.
2) Look at your schematic list, count from that point to where the desired item is. Note, you cannot always assume that the first item on the list is 00 or 01, and there is a point in the list there it sometimes skips a few numbers, at some point you may need to start manually just going up by 1 until you hit your schematic. Also note, if you are crafting away from a crafting station you can skip those items that require a crafting station (thus why you have the previous problem).

If you're a pure BE (and BE requirements) see the FAQ for a crafting guide since I assume you are working up BE now, otherwise Schematic numbers are would not be of concern.

Good luck.

Nope. Because it is going to change according to your char. Sometimes it changes daily.

The best way to do it is to open your draft schematics and count left to right top to bottom (starting at 0).

This will get you close. But the numbering skips around some and is not completely accurate (I think because it skips things you cant make in your current situation on the numbering in a dynamic query to your available schematics).

Basically every time you open a crafting kit, the game checks to see what you can make with it and numbers it dynamically. So if you have a generic kit you will get MIGHT get different schematic number than if you're holdinga food and chem kit standing next to a food and chem station (most likely not just might).
