trust me, dor... if I knew of an MMORPG that didn't suck, you'd know about it, too.
QFE.
BTW, Mythic has shelved Imperator for the time being so they can concentrate more on supporting and expanding DAoC as well as work on the upcoming /drool Warhammer MMORPG. So I guess in the meantime it's gonna be a pirate's life for me 'til DDO launches.
well none of that describes my experience when i was a newb. when i started playing this game it was great and i thought the ppl that played it was hella nice, i wouldnt have kept playing if not for the ppl.
to me, the good always outweigh the bad. i dont have the emails of the bad ppl ive run across, of course,i dont even remember their in-games names but i do have the names of the good. ive played several other mmo games and the ppl of this one has been the best. in the end i think the ppl make the game great or not.
Hamham - that's because you're so sweet
No that wasn't my experience either ... it was just meant to be a humorous essay on how we end up loving the game we play despite the things that happen to us there are always the friends we meet and ultimately it is the game itself that betrays us, not the the people.
In ACTUAL fact - I arrived in SWG with my RL husband and a RL friend. He wasn't a RL friend before we met him in-game but I think it is fairly safe to say that he is a RL friend now as evidenced by the fact that he has slept over at our house and despite the joking about being an axe murderer, nobody has died yet. When I say 'in-game' I actually mean we met him in the LAST game we played. As soon as we arrived, we got together with the ones who had arrived before us (2 of them) and rallied the troops. At one point I think there were about 13 of us from the 'old game' before the ones that decided that SWG was not for them quickly went on to something else (about half of them tbh).
The people make the game. The game is the vehicle to meet the people. There are people for everyone and it takes all the people in it to make the world go around. That, and a decent graphics card ![]()
