I'm curious as most of us don't seem like the PvP type. Does anyone even remember what a BE has to do to take a base down?.....lol.

Funny thing....

I am unguilded andI was actually looking into joining a guild the other day. One person from this guild I was interested in, asked me if I wanted to go help take down a base. I'm on Dathomir in the middle of samplinga group of MR's...20 minutes into it....2 samples....both above average quality. The conversationwent like this.

/tell beep! I jump out of my skin and MR's start looking around like, "Where there hell did that/tell beep come from?"

Guild member: "Can you come help us take down a base?"

Me, "Uh.....really, really busy at the moment."

Gm:"Oh...ok....it will be later on."

Me: "Ok....count me in."

10 Minutes later.

Gm: "Can you come now...we are ready to take this base down"

Ityped, LOL, in the spatial, pressed enter and the MR's aggro'd me...lol. Sometimes, it seems the MR's can hear me typing away at the keyboard. It was just kind of hilarious. Incidentally, I didn't join the guild and I remembered why I remain unguilded. I guess I am destined to be a loner in this game. Most of the guildsseem tuned to PvP andGCW.... I guess I am just not guild material. Even the old guilds that were exclusively Crafting-based areinvolved in GCW/PvP.....

I guess if I am going tojoin a guild I will have to brush up on taking bases down....lol.

This is a bit of a funny one isn't it?

I wouldn't class myself as a PVPer (How many BE's can with template stacking ), however I do like the occasional suicide run with guildies. Basically 6 of us randomly decide once in a blue moonto head to possibly the largest Rebel city in the galaxy - All u Chimaera players know the one I mean, and we have a crack. never made it past the starport next door tbh...

BE is almost redundant, as to excel in PVP u need the best template - stacker in other words, and let's be honest, how many bases arein your galaxy in the first place?

Reliance has bases?

Anyway, BE has become redundant on Chimera as the two main faction guilds have their own mole characters which has all the required skills to destroy a base on one character.

Last time I was there they did

In fact they had at least 2 Detachment HQs.

We ended up losing to them big time, as we didn't know we were attacking during vulnerability .

(I was Smuggler/BE so my combat skills were first class against almost pro PVPers )

After we died, we had a chat with them, and then all of a sudden a load of KDS guys dropped in and started to run amok, so we stuck around cheering them on and watching how a REAL base raid goes on.

Only time I ever thought - Well done KDS.

(Oh yeah and the boys from Reliance levelled our base a while back we have a Tie fromScavenger Hunt as well It's sorta lonely now)

in order to restore pvp to our server, all major guilds have all agreed NOT to take down any bases. My last one was about 2 months ago... I've taken down at least 40 or so in my year of being a Bio-Engineer

I have taken out only 1 base. Before I helped with that I had never read about how to do it, I thought it was just going to be that I had to flip a switch. NOPE.. they give you dna strings to match, the people that I was taking down the base with said, " Whats taking so long?" I replied "is a ****ing puzzle, I have to match like 30 things." it was not puzzle I just didn't understand what I was doing. I did finally get it done by randomly clicking on every letter unitll there were fewer and fewer choices. Immidiatly after that I had to search these forums to find out how to do it, and turns out that it is pretty simple. this is an example:

at, ta, cg, gc

match the following string

agtctag

a

g

t <---this is what you would choose, t is opposite a, c is opposite g, a is opposite t, you would match 3 right here.

c

a

t

g

t

a

c

t

g

eventually you will get them all, but they had a pretty good battle keeping the imps off me while I tried to figure that out.

it was pretty fun though.
