Thread: Eggs? To harvest or not to harvest...

...that would be my question.

Greetings all. Let me apologize ahead of time for this question. Are eggs used in specificBE productsor used at all? Would it be worth my time to harvest these eggs that just spawned on Tarquinas.

If I'm way off base here, could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thx!

Yes we use eggs. And yes that would definitely be worth harvesting, but it takes either 375 or 500 eggs to make a crate if I'm not mistaken, I forget which. The more eggs you have the easier it would be to sell them. As far as price goes, it's different on every server, but just to give you some perspective I would pay you at least 50 cpu for a good size stack.

with eggs like that I would waste days on end collecting them until they spawned out. Those are top of the line eggs, and could be used in alot of stuff besides just bio stuff. Not sure if those numbers are accurate, but if they are they are get for jsut about anything. also remember you can stay on your bike and search lairs, just fly from lair to lair collecting.

Lol, on sunrunner those would go for a LOT more. There's some eggs right now that are lower quality and getting 300cpu. And max crate size doesn't matter, if you do a factory run, it will put as many in that crate as you have resources for. even if you don't sell them, you can hang onto them and get a higher price later when not-so-good eggs are spawning. Don't let anyone cheat you at 50cpu though, thats rediculous on any server.

Hmm, this has not been my experience at all. I have a hunter character on a server where I'm not a BE, and what he does is routinely spends 4-5 days on a particular planet hunting where there is a particularly nice spawn of something (wooly hide, avian meat, herbivore meat, etc.) and just collects eggs in the normal course of hunting. That generally nets me stacks of eggs between 300-500. But the trouble is, they don't sell for much. When I put them on the coronet bazaar for anything over about 30cpu they don't sell. And I recently had an auction for some particularly nice ones (and the stack was large, I think it was 700+), and the auction ended with only 1 bid, for 30cpu.

Also, here is something to understand about eggs from a tailor's perspective (eggs ultimately go into advanced myoflex which is a tissue bio engineers sell to tailors, and tailors in turn sell clothing made from this to dancers/musicians): quantity is much more important than quality. As a tailor you'd much much much rather have a 25 +13 tissues, then 13 +18 tissues. Therefore a stack of 500 so-so quality eggs, ought to be worth considerably more than a stack of 300 primo eggs like he has. And quite frankly, as a tailor I wouldn't pay much more for a crate of +17's than I would for a crate of +13's.

As a BE, I once had a hunter offer to sell me a pretty good sized stack (I think it was 500+) of really good quality eggs. I think he wanted 75cpu as I recall. I turned him down. Not because I didn't need them, or that I didn't think that was fair compensation for his effort, it's just that I didn't feel I could absorb that cost into my myoflex.

So I guess my answer to his question is that I don't believe it's ever worth your while to go out of your way to collect eggs. They won't sell for near enough to justify your effort on the servers where I play. But on the other hand, in the normal course of your activities, if you find yourself on a particular planet a lot during the course of a spawn, you might as well collect eggs to sell, because it doesn't take much effort to do that, and they do have some value.

Thanks for all of the responses. I just spent the last few hours collecting 2k of these "uber" eggs. However, there are some valid points made in this post and I just might collect another 5-10k of these and tuck them in my safe deposit box for a while. These are the best eggs to ever spawn on my server and I don't have a problem holding onto them for a while.

I'm ashamed to admit that one of my 5 accounts is a Master BE and should have known about "eggs"...but he has onlysold nutrients to chef's.. never going outside the bubble to create other BE items.

Thx again!!

Arthur is right most of the time you should listen to him.... I would put the word out, and see what you can turn up, you might do ok with them. Or if in the future a huge wookie dnacer population arises there just may be a big market for 18's.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.
