I was thinking about picking up this class to earn some credits. Those of you that are BE is this profession worth it? Are you makeing a profit from makeing creature?

If your looking to make quick cash go for Doc or Chef. BE's don't make the big cash. Pet sales are small and tht tissues we make are primarily INN's and BSN's for chefs with a few assorted Tailor tissues here and there. We have a relativley low profit margin when you look at how much meat costs.
Don't get me wrong, BE is great, just not the best way to make a living.

BE isn't a great money maker. There are people who get landed with large, regular contracts but those are sparse. As stated before, if you want money doc, AS or Chef are the ways to go. This is more of a 'fun' profession than a money making one.

*shrug* I'm doing ok money wise. Then again, I'm used to barely making a living as an architect. It's a very FUN profession though if that's what you want. And you can make a living at it.

Well, I made a good living as a WS and then switched over to BE. BE is more work and more fun...but less credits.

I sell CL10 pets (the "standard" version, not the ubers) and they sell well. I sell pet stims and they sell very well. I make chef tissues and they sell well. I make tailor tissues and they don't sell in quantity but they sell well.
I'm by no means rich. Just because a product sells well does not mean there is a large profit to be realized. If you want credits, BE is probably not the profession you're looking for. An AFK entertainer can make more money than a BE. BE is a heck of a lot more fun however.

I had never tried crafting before when I decided to give BE a try. For tailor tissues and chef additives the crafting is fairly simple. You don't have any subcomponents or anything so I found BE to be a good profession for someone new to crafting. Once you get the hang of the tissues/supplements you can move on to more complicated crafting like pet stims. I still haven't really figured out pet crafting yet. So there is a good progression there, skillwise.
For profitablitiy that is hard to say for me. I took up BE mainly because one of my friends is a chef, and another is a tailor, and both of them were having a tough time finding BE's to make tissues for them. I supply them with tissues as fast as I can make them, and they in turn give me credits here and there when they make good sales. I setup a vendor that the public has access too but it has yet to make a sale. Sales will most likely increase for me now with the vendor changes as I have pretty low prices and will set my vendor to be open to the galactic market.
I have a ranger/rifleman on a second account, and I would never had taken up BE if I couldn't collect my own creature resources. They are just too expensive.

I Love BE!!! And after i gain my secondslot I will getting it again. However its true that BE is not the real money maker, however if you work hard you will get more money then you need. When i was a BE a long time ago the first month i made nothing and infact probably lost alot of money. As i got better in BE and had lots of meat and flora savedI had a few chefs send tells and emails to me and so i made contracts with them. Eventually i was able to make a couple runs of chef tissues a week selling each crate for 20k, since chef usually order in bulk i was getting 800k a week or more. Never had more then 3 mil on my character and after 5 months i was up to 13mil. Now thats still low to alot players but still more then I need anyways.
Also making non ch pets and ch pets is a blast since there are so many ways to do it. You wil also get to meet new people as a BE who may need your crafting skills 8) BE is still not so common on the servers but it is one great proffesion to experience atleast once.

I'm thinking about making my ALT a BE, that could be cool if I could process my own meat that I harvest.
I could bump the price upa tad and sell normal extracted flora for hella more then 10cpu, i'd think.

I love BE - one of the best profession I've done. Did Tailor - yawn. Did Chef - headache. BE - fun. I'm doing ok with money - but I'm not doing this profession for the profit - as a matter of fact I only have one vendor in which I put pet stuff and some pets. Most of the stuff I do is on an order basis. This way it's not as much of a headache trying to keep a vendor stocked and I can work at my own pace. This is also a profession that you learn something new everyday. Pets take alot of playing around with - trying a little of this and a little of that. It also requires you to actually go out and do something - instead of just standing in front of a crafter all day making stuff to fill a vendor - I love going out and gathering samples of DNA.
So don't do BE to make a quick buck - Do BE for the fun. It's alot of work - but it's also alot of fun.
