Is there anything more annoying than spending 10 minutes to lure a Mutant Rancor from it's spawned group only to have it disappear in the middle of sampling its DNA?
I think SOE has fixed this bug 127 times, I wish they would get it right for once

I have had them warp from 100-1000m away... but not poof... but the same issue...
animals just should not have Force Run in any type or form!!

My favorite was having them fly about 30-40m in the air. Took me five minutes to find a rancor the first time they did this. Makse for interesting screen shots.

Bah, that's nothing. Spend an hour getting close enough to a mutant without breaking mask when a j3di comes out of nowhere and decimates the MR before sampling completes. And then watch him laugh when you complain and call you a n00b.
Well, this was prejedi revamp when they were targetable , remember that? I noted this fact and he advised not even trying it (as if I'd suffer a death never imagined). So, I logged my main character in and found him. Needless to say, I got my payback.

I have noticed the Mutant Rancors at the cave "poofing" also. Generaly if I lure one outside, after only a few minutes, I attempt to sample the ranocr and am told that "the target is too far away." This has been happening ever since cave respawn timers were shortened. I have also noticed that, perhaps 10-15 minutes latter, the "poofed" rancor will reappear at his spawn point. I am sure that it is the exact same rancor that returns back at his spot.
To combat this I use Prawn Nutricake (burst-run food). As soon as the rancor agros I drop a piece of Prawn and run towards the entrance. This has two benificial effects in that I get hit less often (can even do with out synthsteak) and also, the rancor will give up before I get to the mouth of the cave. As long as the rancor is still in the cave they do not "poof." You have to eat the food right away because if the rancor dizzies you, you can not burst run.
Also since the cave respawn timers have changed, you might find it worth your while to stay in the cave for a bit, back behind the floor triggers, and sample the second wave.
