Thread: Tailor Tissue pricing.
I get the feeling this is ridiculously cheap though. Last time I bought some BE clothes, I paid about 60k-80k each for a shirt, pants, and spec-ops duster with some mask scent/camo and creature taming mods.
Finished off regrinding "little" Dolomaz back to BE and was now going to try supplying some of the starving Tailor´s with some nice BE tissues....the big problem though.....is that I´ve got no check whatsoever on the rescent "common" price settings on BE Tailor Tissues.
Been speaking to some of the BE´s on chim but it seems that most of them don´t make Tailor tissues due to the resources requested. The majority are still living by making pet´s and supplying chefs.
So, I turn myself here to ask for your kind help
For example, Tensile resistance (melee/stun def), how much could I charge? Offcourse I´m not selling them 1 by 1, but one unit is the easiest way to start to count from due to it beeing Tailor tissues.
Well, thanks in advance for any help you can give me
dunno what every one els does though.

I´ve been speaking to some tailors and the replies I´ve got from them have made me sooo confused haha
I don´t know much about the tailor profession, thus I´m sticking my posts here at the BE forum to try and prevent not getting my arse flamed till kingdome come
This is some answers by tailors regarding all from tissues to the final product. It´s late so plz forgive me if I mix things up.
Tailor number Uno.
He sell´s his finished products for 1k per enhanchement.
So time for some math. Let´s say the regular Formfitted undershirt with melee/stun def.
It requires 1 tissue. Let´s say I sell it for 3k/tissue and the stats are 4/16.
Ok, I get my nice 3k and walk to the closes cantina, while he´s selling his final product for the stated 1k/enhachement....damn! He walks away 17k profit?! Still he thought 3k was to much
Tailor number Zwei
He sells the final product for 10-15k, no matter what kind of enhanchement it was. Nor did he care about how many tissues were required. The profit, he told me, wasen´t good but he thought it wasen´t about the profit, it was about the profession (holy damn....does non-profit players excist?!).
Tailor Tre
All BE clothes was started with a 10k mark, same as our unofficial setting for making BE pets with armour. Then he added the pricing for tissues (x tissues multiplied with price per tissue). And finally he added the price index from TKfashion.
Well....all this might seem to be some real mumbo jumbo....it might well be.
But during this short preiod of time I´ve realized it would be almost impossible to start opening a vendor "Free for all" to buy since I´ll prolly get several Tailor with their opinions regarding my prices.
Conclusion. I´ll prolly need to find a business partner and make an stedy agreement on pricing and hopefully I won´t get screwed, or I´ll just have to grind myself a Tailor
SchizoF,
It's not so bad. I've found that tailors, being the social players that they are, generally are very very easy to deal with. They can be pretty picky about quality (none of them wants to be known as the tailor that has worse clothing then their competitors), but generally unconcerned about costs (within reason). They generally have the ability to adapt their prices to their costs, whatever their costs may be.
One of the more prolific tailor-tissue BE's on my server last year (who quit the game) used to sell all his tisues (generally +17) for 100k/crate and he had no problems selling them. What you have to be careful of though is that if you position yourself such that you are offering your tissues lower then your competitors, a prolific tailor that discovers your shop will tend to just strip your vendor clean of tissues. So unless you have the capacity and connections to really do an extremely high volume of business, you may need to price accordingly.
As far as tailors and profit margins, I think we are in a pretty good position with them because since most of the know that they can markup their BE clothing pretty high, and most of them have no desire to make their own tissues, that means that potentially we have a lot of pricing power.
Also, just one comment about your example "number zwei" below. Most of the tailors that I'm familiar with that uses such a scheme generally uses the high value to determine pricing. So warcry/intimidate +16/+16 would sell for 16k, and melee/stun +4/+16 would also sell for 16k.

I know see and partly understand why so few BE´s are making Tailor tisses.
Not only doest it require lot´s and lot´s of resources.
Many of them are specific resource (as with Doc), but to make and be able to supply Tailor tissues at a regular rate , for us not that rich, it would be a pain.
Still, I won´t break, I´m gonna make Tailor Tissues
