Most reasonable people realize there is too much low hanging fruit for the dabblers. The "Golden Class" scenario is a game killer.

My idea.

Every "Box" you train in ranged weapon damage will increase a base multiplier for your special attacks effectiveness.

Therefore a Master BH with 32 ranged weapons boxes trainedwould getcloser to the max effectof his /torso shot thensome pistoleer with the minimum skillsfor /stoppingshot (only 9 ranged weapons skill boxes trained).

Also, a dabbler/hybrid who just trains the Pistol tree of BH for /torsoshot would not be totally screwed. They'd have 24/32(75 percent) the effectiveness of the Master BH. If they bought 8 more ranged weapons boxes in pistoleer they'd be on par with a master BH.

So,

How would a Master Pistoleer with20 boxes in Pistol compare in a Pistol fight with a MBH who only has 8?

Thats whyI said Ranged weapon, not Pistol. It really makes sense having suck a broad knowledge of ranged weapons would help. Its like cross training.

So MBH would have total of 28 and a Master Pistoleer Master Marksman would have 32?

Is that right?

I think that any bonuses giving past the marksman tree should not stack with other bonuses of the same weapon type.

In other words if someone chose to be a BH/Pistoleer the would have all the BH pistol specials and all the BH bonuses but the speed/accuracy bonus of pistoleer would not be added. Make it to where the higher bonus gets used and the lower bonus gets eliminated. This would make dabblers viable but very iffy.

hmmm. the game is getting better.... Think i'm going to stick around if things keep going this direction.

Yes a Master Pistoleer/Master Marksman would have 32 "boxes" and would have 4 more then a Master BH. Thats a legitmate commitement of skill points to justify your effectiveness.

I dont see how that is legitamite for a couple of reasones:

1. MBH 217 skill points Master Marksman Master Pistoleer140 Skill points leaving MBH with only 33 and the other guy with 110.

2. Hmm.. with all that math I kinda forgot my other point. Crap maybe I will think of it in a few min.

Oopps I am an idiot. I originally was counting the novice and master boxes too with makes a Master Pistoleer/Master Marksman have 36 and a Master BH would have 32.

They could impliment this as a "+1 ranged weapon effectiveness" skill mod added to EVERY skill box related to ranged weapons (I'd include LLC in this). This could then be a multiplier used to modify the damage/effect/duration ofALL ranged weapon abilities.

This way a person with 32 "ranged weapon effectivness points" would do twice the damage on average then someone with only 16 "ranged weapon effectiveness points" even if they used the same weapon.

It rewards people for a commitement to a skill and allows hybrids the ability to benifit from diversity of skills without being overpowered relative to the specialist.

Well now i have another idea the last one i posted was in the days of rating a post and it got rated 5 stars. This idea has to do with the new abilities for ch and the old specials for be. As a MBE/MCH i know many people bought my pets for their specials. Now the CH learns abilities so no more specials in the dna for the BE, so my idea is come up with 5 or 6 specials that a CH can not learnas an abilitybut creatures do have so when you get dna it would show up as a special like before. Keep it like before that their are only 2 spots sa1 and sa2 and you would have to get dna from creatures that had the specials you wanted. you could bring back poison and disease.
