Thread: Discouraged MBE...

OK...First off I am a MBE / MCH...To get MBE I sampled DNA until I was lvl 4 then I sat in my house for what felt like forever, grinding away until I lvl'ed up the other 3 bars until I was master...In doing this I think I missed out on alot of the learning part of what BE really is...I enjoy creating pets but I am still learning the recipes for making a certain lvl of pet...

I am discouraged because ever since Publish 21 came out it seems like we have been reduced to nothing more than glorified CH's...I have been out taming pets so that I can train my BE pets with special abillitys. This is somy BE pets will carry any type of appeal to CH's at all. I know we can engineer pets better than you can get them from in the wild. But with the CL 10 mounts being broken and all its a pain (Cu Pa's ect..).

When I first decided to do this I thought I would be able to make a creature that you couldn't find in the wild. (thats the impression I got from the guids N-E-Ways.)

I know I am just complaining but if anyone has any ideas to help me learn how to get better or to make it more fun like I thought it would be I would appriciated it.. Thank you for letting me rant and for any help I can get....Have a good day..

it seems as though BE isn't really for you, then.

i'm unsure of what you expected to "learn" during the grind, as we all had to go through the same process, pre and post-CURB.

pre-CURB, without the benefit of double/quadruple XP or respec'ing, of course.

Just so you know I didn't have any xp or respec help either... But that aside... What I was trying to say was that maybe other people went out and did things during that process... I didn't....I had someone offer to teach me the profession and told me to grind to master then he would teach me everything thathe could...But once I reached master he left me high and dry...So I just want to know if there is a way to help with the learning curve....any suggestions will be very helpful and I think the help alone will make it more fun....Thank you for your time though goatt_13....I may not have made my meaning of what I was looking for very clear and I appreciate your time in reading my thread... I think that BE is for me because it is something that I have wanted to do for a long time...This is my first non combat profession and maybe I am just a slow learner but I have the conviction to stick with it...Thank you again to goatt_13 and and anyone else willing to take the time to read this.....

there is a santa claus-esque bag full of wonderful FAQS stuck at the top of this forum, by our top elf.

in fact, they answer specific questions that you asked on your other thread - such as, what type of factory to use, how to make a schematic, etc.

my suggestion is for you to read, experiment and then ask questions.

OK, here is the down and dirty quick path for making pets in BE vs. Wild creatures. Our creatures can be tailored to the needs of a CH. Our pets hit twice as fast an wild. We can make a lower level pet than it's wild counterpart. You need to see where you market is. Mostly CH's want CL 70's, Nice combo's <Twins 2X35> and <Triplets 3X23> . With our damage cap at 499 it seems the twins and trips are some of the best ways to go. If you maxout dmg you will get a high damage pet that can hold agro better. If you max out HAM you get a High HAM pet that can tank better but will not hold agro as well. If the ch has the taming ability to increase agro he will perfer the high HAM. I have a BE pet with 9K+ HAM at CL66 that does min damage but can take on almost anything by itself. Cats seem to go well, they seem to move faster than other pets. Kimo's sell well also, people like the looks of them. Check out some of the web sites and stickies, there are some tools that will help you determine the CL of a creature before you craft. Sample a lot of DNA and record the stats so you know which has the stats you are lookin for. Many of the stats are meaningless when you craft, because they reset once the pet is tamed anyway. With the new learning system for CH it make our pets that much more valuable. The CH can learn the abilities in the wild, get one of our pets, or 3 and have one heck of a trio with the pets learning special and laying states. The possibilities are endless. It's all in the DNA. I prefer to make High HAM CL 10 pets. This way they can tank for newbies and crafters, plus they look cool. I have chars on about 7 servers so let me know what server you are on and I may be able to help. BE is an awesome profession.

i do think the best advice is to read as much as possible.

i don't think you've missed much as far as your experiences go; in fact, i would say you've gained a lot more than the average grinding BE, if you've received any measure of guidance.

if you can turn things around, figure things out a bit (this takes time and failure), and see the fun in making sense of it all (frustration included), i'd say you have the foundations for an excellent BE.

the fact that you're going out and trying to present customers with a complete, trained package is going to show your customers that you are a reliable source, and that's a good thing.

what's your in-game name, by the way? message me privately, if you don't want to announce it publically.

Glad you are feeling better If it makes you feel any (more) better, I had one aim and one aim only when I was starting out. To make my friends the bestest level 10's I could make and FIGURE IT ALL OUT MYSELF. Well I finally ended up with some pets that were about 1000 health in the old system and were perfect level 10's and at that point I started reading (more) and reading and looking at what other people had done and that's when I really started to figure things out. At which point I realized that 1000 wasn't very good and I could be doing much better. Then I really started to understand how BE worked (and I mean started) ... and then they changed it.

BE's too hard to figure out all by yourself I think. Keep reading and asking questions - it's how you learn.
