Yes ... if the complexity of the creature is too high it will only show next to a PRIVATE crafting station - ie. one in someone's house or else in a crafting droid. This is true for rancors and kimogilias.

well ... *cough* ... it doesn't have to be YOUR private crafting station. Lots of people have crafting stations in houses marked public so anyone can go in and use their crafting station but not actually touch any of the stuff in their houses. I would suggest that for a mobile BE, a droid witha crafting station is also useful ... if you can't afford much, ask a DE if they'd be willing to make you a mouse droid with a food crafting station in it ...
Oooh, oooh, don't forget to ask for a storage compartment too!!!!! You can never have enough storage.
