This is a touchy debait, ain't it? BE's become a CH-Only binificiary as far as pets go, though there are people who like keeping pets for that single purpose, to be pets, not weapons or mounts. Asside from this, let's focus on the issue of BE pet sizes.

Many argue that there are 2 problems with BE pet sizes, CL10 being too small and high CL's being too big. Although half of you may want sizes turned to a generic normal size, the other half like having pets either stay small or grow larger than normal. Personally, I love my oversized mounts. I originally took BE to make an oversized Bol, but I'm currently working with a CL70 Bantha and a CL70 Falumpset. I have a full grownCL69 Falumpaset from before the publish hit, and it truely towers above other mountables, but it doesn't take up allot of space since more than half it's body is made of long legs. However, pets like Kimogilla, Rancor, and even Dewback can grow to a size that would be considered troublesom, but people who are useing these pets PERFER them to be this size or thy would have chosen another BE pet to have.

So, let's look at what possible actions may be taken.

1: Reset pet size to original Pre-CU standards.

2: Adjust certain pet sizes.

3: Don't bother.

4: Find uses for different sized pets.

1: This would reset future pet creation, but would not effect any current BE pet. This can be seen in Pre-CU BE pets VS Post-CU pets today. However, like I stated above, only half would like this idea.

2: Some pets are just too big and could stand a resizing. However, like I stated above, people who own these large pets WANT them to be this big. Leaving them big is fine, but what good does that do for Non-CH BE mountable pets? I propose readjusting the size growth of mountable pets that are CL10 and lower into their own catagory. Have it so that the bigest a CL10 BE mountable pet can grow to is the size of it's smallest wild counterpart. Motley Kaadu, Dwarf Bantha, Lessor Dewback, Lessor Bol, Lowland Brackset, Falumpset (CL10 or CL19), normal sized Cu Pa and Carrion Spat. However, have it so that mountable pets made below CL10 turn out smaller.

I propose also bringing back aged growth in CL10 and lower pet size, having it so Non-CH can train Non-CH pets to grow them (not capable of learning or teachingabealities nor have the option to have CH train them abealities if in posession of training XP),or having CL10 and lower BE pets tamed immediatly at the preset size.

3: I definetly think something should be done, but it is not of high priority at the moment.

4: This is something I've been mulling around with on the CH forum here and there. When I think of pet sizes, I immediatly think of mounts. The sticky of my CL69 Falumpaset is an example of a mount that can be compairitivly different in size, even from a dwarfed Savage Humbaba. I had originally invisioned a selection of sadles instead of the generic sadle shown here. I would like to see the option to add a sadle, remove a sadle, or to switch a sadle in the pet training window. Sadles would be made by Tailors, possibly having canopies by Architects, all with customizeable colors, patterns, flags, and drapery. There would be nothing special about sadles, just something for show (which is all mounts are outside Kashykk), but certain sadles like Canopies would require certain sizes of mounts. For example, a dewback in any form would not be capable of holding a canopy, but a BE dewback might become large enough to qualify.

A list of possible 'sadle' options:

Colors - Patterns: Have a color selection available when creating sadles that is much like what can be seen while crafting clothing. Sadles with patterns, more or less, would have additional color sectionsavailable.

Flags: Imperial, Reble, and a selection of miscilaniouse styles like a Tuskan flag. These, like the above meantioned with patterns, would alsohave optionalcoloring. The flags could either hang from the sadle or be mounted onone to severalpost. Posted flags, like Canopies, might require an Arcitect to construct.

Drapery: This can be anything from quilts, to decorative supplies, to miscilaniouse construction equipment and packaged goods. Drapery is an additional part of the sadle, selected during creation, to give it added apearance.

Q: What good does any of this extra stuff do when I can just paint my speeder?

A: That's your choice, this is mine. If you gotta get somewhere fast, use a speeder.

Q: The devs would never put this much work into anything like this.

A: Funny how we in the CH forum were saying this the very day before the Publish 21 announcement was sprang on us.

Q: Won't canopies just add to the size problem?

A: What's the problem? If your in a group, either the group won't mind or justdon't use a big animal.

I'm not trying to take anything away, I'm trying to add to it. This will be posted in both the Bio Engineer and Creature Handler forums.

5: BE contols the final size of the pet with a slider or some UI tool that way people can choose to have a small pet lizard dewback or a monsterious mount.

The slider should only modify the size by a small amount, based on level. It would be terrible to have someone with multiple max-size pets out at once. Can you immagine the current Dewback size, maxed out, X3?

Personally, I perfer pet sizes based on CL because of status. Would be nice to have an option to make pets above CL20 smaller though.

Yeah I aggree that a CL10 shouldn't get as big as a CL 70 at max size. Although I would error more towards the BE size than a CL size. That would give people the most options while not allowing a CL70 jax the size of a large bug.

Formountables CL10 and lower, there would be a max size of the smallest possible wild tame, as I meantioned earlier. Crafting a pet lower than CL10 will produce a mountable of smaller stature. For example, a Cu Pa becomes mountable at CL8 when tamed in the wild. If you were to craft a CL7 Cu Pa, it would not grow large enough to sadle, but crafting a CL8 Cu Pa will produce the smallest possible mountable Cu Pa. I know this may seem a bitunusualle, but it's been requested from me before.

For pets that are CL11 and higher, the slider would become an option. However, the slider would only be capeable of shrinking the pet, not making it larger than it's CL allows. The slider would show your character standing next to the full grown model of the pet and you could adjust it's size based on your own. If the sadle proposal above comes into play, perhaps mountable pets will show a list of options available for the target size.
