200 pets x 5 samples each = 1000 DNA samples.
It takes about 10 seconds per each sample.
Even at master with lowbie pets I only nab a sample 80% of the time.
So for every 8 samples let's say it takes 100 seconds (1m 40s)
That means to get 1000 samples I need to spend 12,500 seconds (208m or about 3.5 hours) JUST sampling.
Consider that even on Muon with mind stats at max and brandy you will still have some down time in there. Consider even if you ran out with nothing in your inventory except a backpack you can only hold about 100 samples at a time (Leaving some room for your crafting kits), you would need to stop every 20 minutes or so to dump your inventory or craft some pets. Either way this leads to MORE down time.
Each DNA Template takes 30 seconds tocook and even with macros will probably take an additional 10 seconds to fill in the resource slots, multiply that by 200 critters and you have 130+ minutes of waiting for your crafting to complete. Okay, fine, maybe you're using like six crafting stations at once, that's still 22 minutes of pure template crafting.
Let's tag on an additional 30 seconds to each pet for the final combine of the template and skin. That's 100 more minutes crafting or 16 minutes if you have your assembly line running with multiple stations.
What are we up to? 3.5 hours of JUST sampling, add an additional hour and a half of down time for inventory changeout or mind reduction, and an additional 46 minutes for the crafting part of it. So we're looking at approximately 5 hours on this project assuming that everything goes exactly as planned (no critical failures) and the Bio Engineer has multiple houses setup to store the thousands of resources needed during the entire process. In fact, the logistical setup alone is looking for another hour of work. Let's add another hour just to be safe and make sure to compensate for any critical failures and unforseen setbacks.. So 400000 credits for7 hours of work. A round figure there is 57K per hour.
I can take Savage Quenker missions on Dantooine for 6800 credits and pound out ten of them in an hour. Why would I want to do this for you again? ![]()
Sorry, don't mean to be a d*ck, but if you understood how cumbersome it is to craft pets you wouldn't even make this request. We can't use factories to make our stuff or harvesters to collect our materials. EVERYTHING is done by hand.
