Thread: Re-Evaluating CL10 Pets....

For a good while, I was much opposed to BE made pets that werea tad moreradical than their wild, CL10 counterparts. After much deliberation, experimentation, and use of one that I made.....I'm convinced that the CL 10'smade according to the old VD/VD/HP/HP/HP recipe are really no threat to the CH populationand highly unlikelyto unbalance the game.

I have tried severalCL10 combinations and I have found that for the most part.....peopleare just using them for meat shields. Most of the CL10's I have made don't do any significant damage....I mean 30-40 damage.....woooooo...lol.The one thing that is kinda cool isfailing an experiment and having fortitude go to1. I maxxed out agression when this happened and got a pretty decent CL10 pet.

Nevertheless, in my experimentation I came across several first generation combinations "that even theNovice BE" can use. I thought I would share one ofthem with the community. The DNA samples will be in the normal order. Physique/Prowess/Mental/Psychological/Agression. Here is my favorite because, it's so easyto find the DNA to make it.

Swarming Lesser Dewback/SwarmingLesser Dew/Swarming Lesser Dew/Gorg Glutton/Gorg Glutton. ThisDNAis all overTatooine.....very easy to find.

Experimentation is like the normal.....max out Physique and 1 pointexperimentation with Prowess.

I generally get a pet that is H:3000/A:3000/M:1500 Kinetic: 10, Energy: 5; Blast: 7, Attack speed: 2.13,to-Hit: .27, Damage 30-40.

I don't think this is an uber pet at all. However, it is better than the normal CL10 pets out there when it comes to tanking.

You can also use regular, old Dewback in the Physique slot....it just makes the HAM a little uneven....I like uniformity...that's all. It brings the Kinetic up to 14 and Health Bar up to about 3800+. Everything else is pretty much the same.

In my comparison of a wild CL10 and a BE'd CL10...the wild CL10 was kicking butt on damage but, I had to heal alot because the HAM just wasn't there. This is cool for Pet Stim B sales....hehe. However, the BE'd CL10 was a heck of a tank but, it looked odd to see such paultry numbers show above the head of the enemy when in Combat.

In conclusion, seeing how most players are soloist and group huntinghas become almost extinct..../cry , it is my personal opinion that such BE'd creatures as I have made and experimented with pose no threat to the CH population and therefore should not be nerfed.

I meant to add that the BE'd CL10 pets that I and others have made pose no threat to Combat Balance as well.

I think most of us would agree that documentation or something programmed into our crafting system to help us know what the CL of an animal is duringDNA Combine experimentationwould be nice

This sounds like a good recipe.

One comment though, generally speaking as an MCH I found that I was doing more damage than even my toughest pet. His function when I hunted was to focus their attention on him and survive while I killed them.

Precisely my point.......

Most players that use CL10 pets need them as a meat shields only....a mere distraction while the player sits there and wails on the enemy from behind the pet.

Thats all pets have ever been. No pet has done enough damage to grant it being a stand-alone combat class. In the ol'PvP days it sort of was, but any decent armor and some specials could easily chop down a rancor or other high level pets.

But now pets have become obsolete to players, which is quite shocking because of how worthless player tanks were when I mastered fencer. There was no melee mitigation levels and nowhere near the melee defence mods there are now. Every other fight if I would tank I would have to sit and let my mind regenerate and have my brother (a doctor) heal me up and my wounds. So I mastered CH, and with a graul mauler I was pretty stout as far as PvE but not unstoppable. Things with medium armor or that hit for 2k (ie krayts) were not soloable.

CL10 pets are just tanks, and they aren't very good ones even if you generation-clone. The few benefits are specials and decent ham but not damage or resists. You still have to heal them a lot, they can't tank what higher pets could or melee could, and they aren't good for PvP with the exception they can poison or disease and even that doesn't make much difference usually. The current "uber" CL10 pets aren't hurting anything besides the jealousy of those that don't have one.
