Does anyone have any experience in testing the limits of BE pet validity? I'm starting to put pets on my vendor, and don't want to sell anyone something that won't be tamable due to the stats being too high. So far I have only made 1 pet that seemed questionable, but with the large amount of mystery surrounding this issue, I wanted to ask if anyone knows where to draw the line on pet stats.
Last night I created a level 13 choku with over 10k health, and about 9k action/mind. It also has around 30 kinetic resistance, but no armour. Anyway, I thought for sure this thing would be invalid...I mean a level 13 built like that? So I passed it along to my MCH and was able to tame it with no problems. Definitely surprised me.
So maybe it takes a lot to create a creature that the server will deem unacceptable, but I'd love to hearif any of you have had invalid pets, and if so, what kind of stats/CL/etc. did they have?

AT this stage its not really about 'pushing the limits' of BE, reasonable looking pets are invalid and rediculous ones are perfectly fine. 2 almost identical pets can be 1 valid and 1 invalid depending on whether the formula you used to make it.
If you want to have a fair guess at whether a pet is valid or not - buy a chance cube

Word here on the BE boards is that using the Eye of Mesra is also a solid way to determine validity

Please forgive my newbness, but I'm trying to understand how non CH BEs are supposed to know what they can sell and what they can't. Is it just trial and error? Should I email everyone that buys a pet from me and ask them if it works and tell them they can have a refund if it doesn't? I'm not to the point of making nice pets yet (unless you count my kickbutt level 2 pets!) but I'm starting to kinda worry as I read more about the profession.

That's exactly my concern too Milarella. While I do have a CH, I'd rather not have to make duplicates of some pets just to test for validity. I think after being able to tame that level 13 pet I mentioned, I'll not be worrying too much about this though. If someone buys something that is found to be invalid, I'm sure they'll contact ya.

Short answer: Nobody is sure.
We've been begging the Devs for months for some kind of answer. We have received no response.
Some people issue a disclaimer with their non-ch pets. Some people give full refunds. Alot just don't sell them at all to avoid the hassel.
So there it is. There's no way right now to be absolutly certain a non-ch pet is valid, untill you try to tame it.
Wish we had a better answer for you...

No actually AnakinsClone that answer is good enough for me. But I have one more question. Is it strictly the non-CH pets that this applies to? For some reason I was thinking that any pet could be flagged as invalid.

You gave the best answer, it's SOE's fault there's not a better one
Thanks for the info, it's what I had begun to piece together, but I just wanted to be sure. I'm glad we've got threads of sucessful recipes so I won't be selling all invalid pets. This is a great community
