Thread: Harder DNA sampling at master than at DNA 1

I have noticed even in my short stint as a BE master that this is totaly wrong. I find it extremely difficult to get DNA samples off of any community creature or Agro ones. I start sampling and the creature will agro on me whether i succeed or don't in getting a sample. This occurs about 95% of the time and has made it extremely difficult in obtaining DNA.

In all 4 stages of the DNA sampling limb I would get my samples and the creature would die. This was a steady progression through the skills which the higher level i went the larger the creature i could sample, the better the quality and the more samples i could get from a given creature. I now as master find that I can sample higher levels., I also get better quality samples, and i also get more from the creature but in addition to these consistant progressions i also now get Attacked by the creature a considerable percentage higher than i did at even level 1.

My take on master BE is that i should be less invasive in sampling the creature. Which to me means the creature is less likely to die after 1 sample and i should be able to get multiple samples off of a creature and sincethis is occuring with far less damage to the creature the creature should be far less likely to attack.

I think this is an extremely bad problem and should be addressed ASAP.

I always assumed that it was just the creatures were more likely to aggro you. I haven't noticed that I get aggro'd more by normal mobs but consider that you might have samples naturally non aggressive mobs when you were going through your levels and are now going after much more aggressive mobs. Thats just my thoughts I have no data to back up the tought and coudl be terribly wrong

Spider: The boy's weird, Channon. You should trade him in. Or sell him for salvage.

Channon: Yeah, right. Take advice on relationships from a man whose ex-wife won't come out of cryonic freeze until he's dead...

Spider: Who told you that?

Channon: You did.

A pause.

Spider: Silence. I am watching television.

The biggest problem I have is that these things just wont die when I sample them at the master level. Like you said in sampling one to four you would get a couple decent samples and the thing would die. But at master, almost everything simply refuses to die. So instead of the creature dieing after a couple samples, then after about four successful samples it will simply attack you instead of dieing.

I'd much rather them change this and have them simply die after 3 or 4 samples, rather than automatically attacking you whether it was a success or a fail.

I should have added in my first post that this occurs from every thing from a durni to a mutant rancor,. I can't get samples from a vreit without it eventually attacking me and me killing it. My best example is Rancors, I have sampled them since DNA 3, I could go through an entire spawn off of a lair and not get one agro, this get better with Sampling 4. Now as master i can't usually get more than the samples off of the first rancor i came try because it will inevitable attack me and the rest follow suite.

It is in my opinion that this is crippling my ability to get DNA even from creatures i had very little problems with in the past. I actually considered dropping master and get tons of samples and store them, then go ahead and remaster to make my creatures. This obviously poses 2 problems, first being the AP needed to remaster and the second being I can't get the really good DNA that makes the best creatures.

I fear this will be a short lived profession for me and I really find that a shame because i really enjoyed it until I became master.

I thought it was just me. I noticed this phenomonon yesterday as I was working hard to finish the DNA Sampling branch of BE. During Sampling IV I had more fails and fail/attacks than any of the previous 3 boxes.

Have the same prolem as you are experience and i bet most others do aswell. They should relly look into sucess rates on dna sampling at master lvl and they should most deffently check eighter Mutant rancors or our mask sent becorse something is very wrong whit it aswell
