Dor,K,Q got the low down?

Please be aware theres a bug on this... I KNOW from xp.

That's how pet deeds 'die'. It's normal or else you'd have an infinite supply of Gen1 DNA and nobody would ever need step out of the house again. Sometimes you get up to say 4-5 samples from it before it vanishes, sometimes less - usually less depending on luck and/or level of the deed.

And I will add something to the FAQ - good point! (but not now - will do tomorrow)

pre-CURB variations and generational 'studies' made BE a joy to play.

Pre curb I got anything from an instant poof up to something like 9 samples...

Multi Gen samples were the key to great pets Pre CURB...I did a lot of it, mainly for the lower level pets like Non-CH and Triplets. With the small number of high level creatures about and the sampling cap at 5 levels above max controllable level there isn't much point in multi gen sampling higher level pets except for a bit of tinkering.

or milky white, from lack of sunlight, while making so many 2nd generation clones... just in case.

I wouldn't be so fast to assume multi gen sampling is useless. I accidentally made a CL 71 pet using Malkloc DNA in slots 1, 2, and 5, and Craggy Bolma DNA in slots 3 and 4 (for high intelligence). All samples had hardiness in the 900s and the Craggy Bolmas had intelligence around 400. When I sampled the CL 71 creature, the DNA samples were all 1000 hardiness and had intelligence even higher than the Craggy Bolmas had. So, I decide to sample the CL 68 and 69 pets I had just made using the same or similar formulas. I ended up with 7 2nd-generation samples with 1000 hardiness, excellent endurance*, and very high intelligence. Also, the fortitude and dexterity were low relative to the hardiness and endurance, which keeps the CL down. These 2nd gen samples are excellent for slots 3 and 4 due to the high intelligence, and quite good for slots 1 and 2 as well due to the 1000 hardiness and high endurance. Since the cap is 75 on making pets for sampling, you can typically put 3 experiment points into Aggression andmax out Mental and Psychological. I go back and forth between SWG and my spreadsheet with the CL calculations to try to avoid going too high on the CL.

*Note that Young, regular, and Bull Malklocs can all have hardiness approaching (and rarely reaching**) 1000. However, the Young Malklocs have endurance around 900, the regulars have endurance around 920-925, and the Bull Malklocs have endurance around 940-950 (roughly). So, put Bull Malkloc DNA in the 2nd slot (at least) for high health regen. (Don't put Uller Stoneclaw in slot 2 since it has low endurance and high dexterity - save that DNA for slot 5, which doesn't affect dexterity and endurance much but does have a significant affect on hardiness).

**As I did before the CU, when choosing creatures to sample, I place my cursor over the Health bar of the creature to see if it is worth sampling. Typically I'm looking for health of 7700 or better for Malklocs, Craggy Bolmas, and other high level creatures. The higher the health of the creature, the higher the hardiness of the DNA samples.

Except the part where you turn blue holding your breathe sampling the last generation ...

I never said it was useless...far from it, what I meant was its use is limited when compared to lower level multi gen sampling.

The Non-CH pets using the MH formulas would use the first 2 slots as MH on the 2nd generation (Normally)...that MH sample was from a creature almost 6x the desired pet level (CL58), and the final combine ended up roughly 3x more powerful than what was accepted by the devs as a reaonable critter (4k HAM instead of 12k HAM)

To put that into a higher level pet...6xCL70 = CL420. Thats your Physique and Prowess donor...With the 3x stats that came through on a CL10...a cl70 should have had 36k HAM (12kx3)

I know im playing the figures a little bit to my advantage here, but from a qualitative POV, I never found much point to resampling high level pets...except where I overshot the mark a little, so I would resample, 5xclone with a little less in the EXP.
