Thread: Special Attacks
An example of a special attack would be "bodyshot" (pistol skills in Marksman).
The advantage of bodyshotis that your fire is concentrated on the health of the target, as compared to randomly blasting away and maybe hitting health, action, or mind. This can help you kill your target quicker, because you don't waste time damaging their action and mind stats.
However, if you examine your pistol, you'll notice some numbers at the bottom for special move health, action, and mind cost. So every time you use a bodyshot special attack, it's going to take so many points away from your HAM bars.
So like others have said, special attacks can be an advantage, but they do coststats that can help you die quicker.
Ooops, lately ive been fighting with only overcharge. Gonna check the quality of my brand new 600credit pistol when i log on.
Anyways, a question. Do ALL special moves use the ammount on the weapon, or is the wepon stats added to what it drains? How does that work.
Special Attacks. How exactly do they work? What is the downside of using them? I read somewhere that they reduce your HAM by a certain amount (depending on weapon used) each time they are used. But I have been using mine constantly and haven't seen any change in my HAM meters when using them.
I also read that using overcharge (for marksmen) will reduce the pistols power cell. How do I tell what state my pistols power cell is at?
The idea is that they cost you pools, which can actually help you die faster, but have special effects that are worth it (or do more damage, or force posture changes, etc).
All specials have a cost, some specials can be very inexpensive (bodyshot I for example, is usually quite cheap unless you get a weapon with very high special action costs).

Hiya, I only have enough SP's for one tree of Carbineer. Which tree offers the best special attacks?
If it helps, I'm using these in a support role, I'm going to be a Squad Leader, and I'm looking for something I can use to solo a little bit, but use it mostly in a support role.
Any advice?
