Thread: Using a vendor to store and organize your DNA samples

A large issue with Bes is the limited amount of items we can hold at any one time in a house packs banks etc.
One way to counter this is to get a vendor. This is not that hard as you only need business III in the artisan line for one vendor.

Now that you have placed you vendor in the house you can put you DNA on it. This will give you allot more storage room than you had before. To keep it organized I found pricing the DNA works well. Let me give you an example.

You price each sample in the thousands. Each planet that you sample from will have a number. Dant would be 1 Talus 2 Dath 3 and so on. Now the DNA from that planet is in the thousand range of that planets number. So Dath rancor DNA would be priced at 3000
Now to make this even more organized each creature with have it own 3 digit code. Lets say a mutant rancor has a code of 420. So the final price of your DNA would be 3420.

Of course these numbers are just arbitrary so you can set them up as you see fit but it is a great help to keeping your dna in order and also give you lots of extra storage room

Until you come back one day and find someone has purchased all your 3k credit Enraged Rancor DNA.

Oh, and this is considered an exploit by the Devs too. Or at least it was forthe guy who was storing mineral resources on his vendor with 99 million credit prices.

I have not had any issues with some one buying my dna. No one has and I even keep MRDNA on the vendor. If the dna is that important maybe you should use higher number set.Yes 99million is an exploit because no one is goning to be able to buy them but Using reasonable prices on your vendor is not an exploit. If anything but MR DNA sells with this method you are making a profit if it sells. With very hard to get dna add a 0. So per my example MR would be34200. Not a bad price considering they would want to buy 2 or 3, but a bit low for MR so instead of 3 for dath use 9. 90k may be a bit high but if they really really want it they can by it and I just made a good bit of pocket change.

Your vendor has a stock room you know... offer them for sale then withdraw it - they then stay in your store room for 30 days - and no-one can buy them.

Be vewwy vewwy careful assuming things stay in the stockroom for 30 days - I think it's more like 7, and people have reported being burned on this assumption.

I think its 7 days. You can store items in the ingredients hopper of your factory

There are ways to store items if you run out of house, inventory, and bank space.

Things FOR SALE stay on your vendor for 30 days.

Things in the STOCKROOM stay for 7 days.

As I said, be vewwy vewwy careful when using the stockroom as storage, yer gunna get burned.

Owch, I would certainly not keep things in my stockroom because they have a bad habit of "poofing" and you get no warning. It's happened to me in a lot less than 30 days when I was careless, but I couldn't tell you the exact number. 7 sounds a lot closer than 30 however.

As far as putting them in your vendor, yes, you can do this as a last resort. It does work. However with the lag, and with the fact that it's frowned on by the devs, and the fact that it's this very thing that's making them suggest nerfs like not allowing bags in vendors and putting really strict item limit numbers on vendors, it's difficult to suggest this as a valid way of storing things.

Like others have said, first try houses, factories, and banks, and droids before you get desperate enough to go the vendor route.

I have my houses, my factories, my droids and my bank full and I still store things in the vendor
