Thread: Can a MCH get a kimo?

Yeah, I've come across a few who had made very nice kimos, and some very bad ones. But they had no idea how they got the good ones compared to the bad ones.

I'm not looking for an 'uber' kimo. Something CL 55-63 would be fine. But I guess it's more difficult than I imagined. I'm just disappointed I never heard anything from any of them. It's amazing how far a little note like "I'm still workin' on it" will go....

Any MBE worthy of holding a needle can make a 55 to 63. The real challange is 70. Getting 71 is very depressing ;(

I bet they were just swamped with tells and email. I was and was not able to get back to everybody. I tried my best, and play several hours a day, but I was so overwhelmed with people wanting pets, a few slipped through the cracks.

Try them again now. Things have slowed down a bit with the nerf the other day.

I have a waiting list on Kimos I make atm. I just have people email saying Kimo on the subject then go down the list as I make them. I just did 9 of them all CL 64-69, I haven't landed exactly on 70 so far, heh. I have gone over and hit 71 once and 73 once, bah.

They are time consuming, but fun to make. If you were on Ahazi I'd say I'd set you up with one eventually. I am going to retire sometime though, just not sure when. A month, maybe two.

Eh, I feel bad about pestering people. Either they'll go through with it or not... oh well.

Yeah don't pester, it generally doesn't help. Considering how there's only2 species in the universe other than the two Rancor which are CL60+ it means most bio-engineers prefer to try and do more than a simple Rancor copy.

I been trying to understand why people would want a CL 70 Kimo from Muntant Rancor DNA, so we are talking 13k-12k HAM with about 30-50% kinetic resist, when I can easly make CL 49-59 kimo's 12k-11k HAM with 60% kinetic and nearly any 2 specials wanted by the customer, tanks better and cost less. I have talked to a few people about this and they were going off the wild CL number that well bigger is better 54 is smaller than 70 so it must just be worse. So help me understand because I think I am missing something.

Dont ever waste your money on kimo's i had one and all it does is running around like crap,

Get a BE to put the same dna in a gurreck, then at least it will attack and stay focused

Actually, I'm surprised more people don't make/want moreKaadu/Bol/Spats/Dewies.

I make all the good templates I keep for me into a mountable critter. They're fast enough and you can ride them to missions...

I've got a MCH on Tempest, and I've been from one BE to another. I've put in numerous orders with several apparently willing Master BE's to make me a high-level kimogila. And then.... nothing. I don't bog them down with specifics, I just ask for whatever they can do to make a great pet.

I never hear from them again.

It's not like the kimos are that great as pets- I just really wanted to have one (just like I had to get a rancor once I hit master- it's about all there is when it comes to high-level CH 'content')

Is there some secret Bio-Engineer handshake I need to get someone to actually *make* something?

I realize that most are probably still trying to work out the 'formula' for good pets, and that sampling high-level DNA takes time. But still? No updates? No hint that you've even tried?

Sigh.

Just wondering what the proper etiquette is for ordering pets. Being one who is used to going out and simply taming my babies, I guess I'm just not familiar with the procedure for buying them from BE's.

Not too many MBE make them. Alot say they can but getting the DNA and then keeping under cl70 (assuming thats their goal instead of low 60's) is a bit tricky at first. It is alot of work and can be very time intensive so I think it chases the less dedicated away...

My guess is they just don't know how. On my server, I *think* there is three of us who have even made them and two who have made a few and just one, myself, who have made alot of them. I would start by asking people who made theirs. Go with somebody who you know can make them in the first place. Be prepared to pay as well.

Also, get some taming clothes if you want to call a cl63+ (I think) Kimo when it is full grown.

Good Luck

Most, if not all, of the customers I have sold cl70 kimos to want one just to have the highest cl they can. It is more of a trophy thing I guess. I have one in my data pad but I have never hunted with it or even trained it any commands other than stay.

Also, those cl54 (first gen clean dna) do have comparable HAM and resists but they do not deal damage like the cl70. 16 levels for a couple hundred dmg points. to hit, and attack speed I suppose.

Yep, I won't touch the CL 70 stuff. I don't think it's worth it, and am more then happy to let the other BE's on my server that want to do that have that business.

As far as pestering BE's, you have no idea what it's like. If I don't have the dna to make something immediately I tell people up front that it'll be "a couple days". And of course there is no way of predicting that precisely. If I find the spawn immediately, and have good success crafting, it can be done pretty quick, but it could also be days before I find the dna that I need, or I could have a failure in crafting which ruins the creature. Nevertheless, I've had a lot of people who even after hearing that, send me a /tell every half hour asking "how is it going?". And those people do run the risk of never hearing back from me. I can only take so much pestering before they go on /addignore.
