Each tissue requires roughly 150 specific resources to produce and since our class takes so many points to master we cannot readily harvest these resources in bulk, there for we have to either pay 10cpu +/- per resource (many times more than 10 cpu since doctors also use the same resources if the quality is right ) or we have to harvest it ourselves .. taking an entire week if not more of solid6-8 hr play sessions to get into the right grps or solo it to make a single crate.

Based on the 10cpu rule (only way to produce volume) the BE is looking at roughly 1500 per tissue cost (talk to the rangers not us about pricing), not including overhead (factories and such ).There is no way to sell at 500per tissue for a quality tissue .... sure we can factory produce crap for that amount, but is that what you really wanna buy.

I agree with the previous poster. I've been selling alot of tissues lately at 300 per point (only charging highest for the highest point) in factory crates with tailors selling for 1k per point per tissue on their items. Doing this, I can only handle 2 tailors atm because they cant keep the stuff in stock (and either can I to be truthful). And if you are as high volume as you say, you are going to have to re-think this. You're gonna kill your BE cause all hes going to be able to do is grind tissues most of the time.

And since he's grinding tissues, he's probably going to have to buy most of his resources (unless you want to provide them for him). I can tell you from a recent shift of meat, that decent meat doesnt come cheap. Each tissue requires 20 meat, at 12.5 cpu (was paying 10-15 cpu for this stuff mostly) thats 250 credits right there. And theres still 3 more ingrediants. You can routinely hit up to a 750-1k cost just for the tissue in components.

BTW, what requires a person to buy a duster with stats on it? If they want it, and balk at the price, explain the situation. If they still balk, tell them you cant help them then. And if you are trying to break the back of this price structure, why are you looking at us? Say a gunmans duster (think thats a 3RFP cloth) sells for 8-10k (not sure on price) and you need to add in 3 tissues at say 5k a pop. Thats a final price of 25k. And I dont know about your server, but a 3 RFP with tissues usually doesnt cost 25k on my server.

aleria said it very well - the materials are a montrous headache to manage and demand high average qualities. those arent simple to come by. even just going to the bazaar and throwing together tissues out of whats available will cost about the same if not more than you are offering for just materials.

I have 2 shops and am in 3 locations. I sell well over 100 garments a day and this doesn't count the specials orders. Are you on Flurry? Are you a Bio Engineer that is master but tired of trying to peddle one cloth for 16K? I am looking for qualtity cloth in crates and am willing to pay 200-500 per cloth. Many of you may laugh at this but selling a garment that requires 3 RFPs just to get one buff is absurd with the prices that some BE's arecharging now. If your interested in breaking the back of this crazy price structure that exists now and really making some money, contact Durek on Flurry. Thanks

Thanks guys for coming back to me. I guess I didn't know the full blunt of what you were up against. I do know one thing. I have a novice that was supplying me the tissues for free just for the experience. I supplied the hides, meat etc. that she needed. Well, whatever I could get. Buy on the Bazaar? The Bazaar is a joke as far as prices go. You see things like 6 hides for 3K. The guy that posted that is a complete idiot.

Besides being a Master Tailor, I am also a Novice Sharpshooter and advanced Sniper. I go on hunts with my PA when I can get away from tailoring and in a few hours can amass around 5K meat. But I can agree with you that if you solo it and hunt safe things like chubas, gnorts, gorgs etc., it is going to take quite some time to get anything meaningful together at 4 units a drop.

So I understand you guys plight. I also understand that I am not going to sell much of the stuff if I have to charge 25K for a garment too. I am wearing a transport flightsuit with a +14 maskscent buff on it and I really don't see anything significate when it comes to protection. So with this if I use one +14 mask scent +14 camoflauge cloth, I am supposed to tack 28K to the price? I really don't think I will have that many buyers. So actually, it is not a great thing for you or me or the customers too!

Well your right that you won't be selling 200 items a day.. which to me is quite high, however you just listed the price i HAD to move to before players would stop buying out my vendors. I am making about (avg) 50-100k on bio clothes. I know this will not last.. but yes people buy at that price. I didnt create the demand, but its there.

fyi i craft both the components and tailor the outfits.

Maybe I mispoke. When tailors are charging 1k per point per tissue for the clothes, they are only charging for the highest stat. So a +16 bleed defense shirt is 16k. a +16/16 mask scent camo shirt is 16k. Going with this philosophy, my two tailors are selling their wells extremely well. So well, that I couldnt add another customer even if I wanted to. Again, my prices were 300 so around 5k per tissue. If you really feel your prices are too high, I think you should look at cutting into the 11k the tailor pulls in instead of the BE.

BTW, it isnt always a matter of hunting safe things. You may go on hunts with your PA and can rack up 5k meat easy...but is it any good. All the meat I use (which keeps me around the 16/17 mark) has a combined flavor/pe/oq of 2200. Thats not always easy to find and sometimes its most plentiful on the smallest creatures unfortunately.

Though like I said, if you are supplying the supplies, 2-500 per tissue seems like an extremely reasonable offer.

If you take a look at the resources required for tissues, 75% (or 3 out of 4 required resources)cannot be havested using a harvester. I amgoing to pick one out as an example: Active BioSensors +Injury/Wound Treatment. This requires

20 Creature Food a.k.a. meat

25 Insect Meat

10 Wild Meat

25 Flora Structure.

Lets go by the assumption that you put one tissue per piece of clothing. You sell 100 pieces of cloth a day.For argument sake, its all Active BioSensors. So each day the Bio Engineer needs to acquire the following to meet your demand.

2000 meat

2500 Insect meat

1000 Wild meat

For the moment I am going to discount even the flora because I am assuming its a once-off activity where you can harvest and stockpile a large amount. So we concentrate just on the meat itself. This means that the BE has to acquire 5.5K of 3 different types of meat of sufficient quality (I presume at least 6-700 OQ with decent PE and flavor) to satisfy your daily demand.

Even if you have a bunch of rangers out collecting meat, getting 5.5K of meat itself is a challenge DAY-IN-DAY-OUT. It is not difficult to get meat. With a few people and a few hours, you can get 5-10KIF you are fast.

Lets for the moment assumes it take 3 people2 hrs (all inclusive including travel time, getting to right loc and remember its might be on 3 different planets for the 3 different types of meat) to get 10K of meat. That will be a total of6 manhours. Lets peg the manhours to what a decent high lvl CH/combat class earns doing 38-40K dantooine missions. Let assume a CH/combat class does 4 x 40 missions an hour. Thus each manhour we peg the 'cost' at 160K. 6 man hours = 960K. Thus meat costcomes out at 96 creds per meat. Thus the meat portion of the tissue at 96 cpu.

To simplify it, if we peg our 'earning abilities' onpar withhigh 'level' charactersdoing 4 x 40K missions an hour, the meat portion of each tissue comes out at 5280 each. This exclude cost for flora, travel cost, factory cost, weapon usage/depreciation cost, powerup cost, stim costs and etc.

Don't get me wrong. If you provide the meat and someone is willing to do it for a minimal cost, great. Everyone can set their own prices. If someoneis selling you those tissues at500, great. It just means that BE is pegging his earning capabilities on a much lower scale. But personally I do think 500 is way low.

And if somone is selling it at 500 a pop, I would like to buy some too.

Btw, my apologies for hijacking the thread. I didn't meant for it to turn into a price discussion.
