You know... I've been trying to find a plain, old, vanilla Gurreck for 2 days now. I figure, well, since I'm on Endor anyway and they're one of the highest level pets we can sample that has intimmidation (I have a special order for a high level pet with intim). I've seen every concievable type of Gurreck thousands of times over the past 2 days, but not one normal, plain gurreck. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking the only thing I haven't seen more than a gurreck is a gorax.
Does anyone sample these things? If so, is there a place you usually hang out to find em? I've been to swgcreatures and the waypoint locations there all point to the hills west of the smuggler outpost, but I haven't seen anything on the west, or north, or nw/sw.

Oh, I'm really getting to the end o my rope here. If I don't find any by tomorrow night, can I still make a high level pet (60-70) using DNA from a level 35-40 creature to get this special?
Of course, I could just go and try to find singing mt clan rancor, but then I wouldn't be lazy, now would I?

I usually use Merek Cavern Creepers, lvl 40 and have Blind and intimidate. They can be found on ENDOR up on the pataeu north of the outpost. If having trouble just circle the Battlefield up there until they spawn.

Oops, missed this part of the question. Hmm, dunno the answer to that. I'm guess that sure you could make something CL 70ish with a MCC in slot 5, but it would hurt you in terms of damage and in terms of resists. Actually using Gurreck would also hurt you in terms of resists. This is why generally I ignore specials in creatures of that level and just concentrate on everything else (HAM, offensive stats, and resists). There are just so few options to us when it comes to the high-end stuff.

They do exist - but have a very short "season".
Critter spawns in SWG are "seasonal" - you will see more spawns of a certain type than others on different days (this seems to change with the daily "reboot"). Last night, for instance, Arachne Webmasters were "in-season" wityh a heck of a lot of them spawning (including some nice babies
). Other days it might be BMB's or Mereks.
Gurrecks do seem to be "in-season" a lot less often than other creatures - but I do remember one memorable evening when I tamed 3 of them (without farming lairs).
Best advice is to keep going back to Endor regularly. If there aren't any there today, the woods could be full of them tomorrow. I seem to remember that most of the lairs were to the SE of the smuggler outpost in the lowland woods rather than the hills favoured by other gurreck breeds.

I think I've seen them once or twice, but yea, you usually see the other varieties. I prefer using merek cavern creeper when trying to do intimidation. They have reasonable CL, are easy to find, and are far more versatile in terms of the vulnerabilities that they have.

ok, cool. I have a decent supply of cavern creeper DNA in my house. I was worried that using it might put me below target level. Thanks!

Most definately do.. I found mine N of the Smuggler outpost.. there were about 8 gurreks out there and a baby (which is safely tucked away in my datapad and come out to play once in awhile). I have seen more since but no more babies (Ch half cries).
Good luck.. they do exist , just takes time....
My issue is finding MHs I never seem to be able located them when I want to....

I agree with the NNW of the Smugglers Outpost location. I found both of my babies there. About 1K from Smugglers. Non-lair spawn, usually in groups of two, although you sometimes find spawns close to each other.
Many CH are looking for these guys also, so if you happen to find them and get a baby to pop you might want to put something on the planet chat channel, just incase, but that is up to you.
Good luck, but definitely try NNW of Smugglers about 1K
