Yup, Sample as high cl as you can, and get some boost(s) for your mind stats.

Personally I found that it went much quicker to sample lower level mobs that are a step above the newbie yard trash. I was getting frustrated with the scarcity, high failure rate, and frequent aggro I was getting from Pikets and Huurtons, so I did the last 1.5 boxes back on Corellia on things like Gurrcats and Carrion Spats.

Personaly I allways go for the Karumit Defiler missions CL 50 on Dathomir. There easy to catch they hardly move. Sample hop on the bike and wait if he attack if so fly away else sample again or go to the next pet. And it also brings in 20k per lair I shoot. So I got two in one good money and nice samples.

Personaly, soon as you hit DNA sampling 1 go to Endor. There are creatures there of all lvls and you cant go 100m without finding a lair.Make sure you have Exploration 4 though and a nice buff. I did DNA lvl's 3+4 on Arachne drones-venom filled, Just find 2 Arachne Lairs close to each other. Run up Sample them all to they either agro or all die(easier if you have a Fighting skill i did it with Novice swordsman even against Archne Webmaster), then hit the lair 1 time and hit peace SUPER FAST. Then they respawn again, sample them or if they agro kill them. Then head over to the other spider lair. Do the same, by this time the other spider lair will be back at full health and the spiders respawned. Repeat until you either lvl, exp cap, or buff dies. I did 80k exp in 3 hours, did DNA 2 and 3 in 3 hours as well. The most painful part of DNA is going from Novice to DNA 1 and DNA 1 to 2. Dantoine wasnt a good place for one reason, Voritors. They always agroed, specialy with them all over, and even savage quenkers and Hurtonn Huntresses agroed. Anways good luck getting Master BE.

I'd have to agree, Endor rocks for DNA sampling. Those various Jax's and bolle's and low level arachne's are wonderful. And the arachne's are great DNA to use in pets, but that doesn't look like a concern for the original poster cause that question was more aimed at grinding and finishing I think. If that's the case, I hope he didn't make the mistake many make, and save DNA sampling for last...

Ditto to Endor. Blurgs were my favorite. 500-600 points per. That last box went VERY quickly.

Just wanted to thank you all. I'm new to the BE field, and while it is a truly complex crafting profession, it is some of the most enjoyable time I've spent in SWG to date. The only downside so far was how painfully slow the sampling is going, and I cannot wait until tonight to try out Endor, as I have sampling 1 already.

Ehhh, not so sure with just sampling I. I had difficulty with regular blurgs (about 590xp) with sampling II, although the mission givers (blurg sandcrawlers?, 500ish xp) were fairly easy. Sampling I, I just don't see you being that successful with big critters. Maybe stick to a regular planet, but draw a couple of missions for something a step or 2 above the yard clutter. Sample one, tap the liar, sample again, get the eggs, then go to the other. Repeat, then go back to the first, which by now, has reset itself.

If blurgs are to hard initial, then try Blooming/Blushing Jax, I like there DNA as well for mixing as they have 30ish Kin/Eng and 50 Blast with everything else Vun.
Mix in a bark mite burrower worker and you end up with a critter with mid 30 Kin/Eng and Vun's in everthing else.

No Endor is great for all lvls. You got the Jax and you got those oh so cute squalls. They give around 200xp if i recall correct. Plus with Novice swordsman, 1 spinattack with a hammer and they all drop. Find 2 lairs and farm them. Run back and forth between the 2 and carefull not to destroy the lairs. Then move up in CL. With Exploration 4 i know for a fact that you can sneak up on an arachne webmaster(tried at DNA sampling II ended up having to fight it lol) There are shimmering birds, Blurrgs, Arachne Hatchlings, Arachne Drones(lower lvl but good exp and 3-4 sample per), Squalls, Jax. and prolly 10 other things there i cant remember the names of(those bats). Just dont mess with a Venom filled Arachneuntil DNA III and certainly not a webmasterwidow or queen. Alsowatch out for mereks(who wouldnt with the way they look) andthe sceemers. Basically head from the smuggler base out into the forest NOT THE MOUNTAINS. The mountains by the outpost is full of mereks and other nasty creatures you dont wannamess with yet. Plus always have a buff and armor. There isnt anything there that really warrants a Mask scent suit.Once out in the forest a bit head towards the mountains, then you will find the squall, jax, and a few other beasties. In the forest youll find the spiders, bats, birds, blurrgs, and some big animal i forgot thename of.Long story short, if you have samplingI the hardpart is over.

I grinded DNA I in the n00bie trash yard of Theed
DNA II - III, I went to Talus. Got two Tortur missions in the same direction then sampled the three in the first mission then went to the second mission to sample the three there. Then you return to the first mission where threenew Torturs have spawned. Rinse and repeat.
Bring chem crafters and make DNA templates to prolong your time.
I am not grinding DNA IV as I can make decent pets to sell the CHers....who are probably just buying them to train for CH XP then trash them.
