I getat least one request per day to make uber, CHpets with good, overall resists, light armor, high damage.....blah, blah, blah, specials, blah, blah, blah....and as the MCH is rattling off their dream pet.... I drift away into thoughtsof DNA andresists. I do this everytime, it seems.....wondering what they are going to be using this pet against?

I find time and again, that some poor, diluted CH'sare still holding on totheelusive dream of their pets being a viable componentin the realm of PvP. Man I hate tobreak the bad news to them ....and then, they still want to buy this very expensive BE'd pet from me.

I havecreated some pretty awesome pets.BE'd creaturesthat I was proud to put my name on the deed, with everythingthe MCHasked for....only to observe them weeks later in some town battling it out in PvP.I have had the opportunity tosee my creations and their large investmentsdie aquick and meaningless death in PvP. I hate seeing it happen each time but,it's hardto helpsomeCH's understand that pets are not viable in PvP against the uber 1337 combat, defense stacking templates, the 15 year olds are using. They just aren't.An MCH asked for his money back one time when he saw me standing to the side and I had to tell him, I'm sorry....your order wasspecial and Iwarned you that pets don't make it in PvP. TheMCH runs off disgruntled and semi-humiliated from the loss in battle.

It's a reallysad story.....but, very common I'm afraid.....

On the other hand, I have had a unique opportunity, in one case,to watchthe damage types the beast incurred before it went down. The beast was actually holdingits own againsta TK anda Bounty Hunter's LLC. It wasn't untila Master Fencer unequipped her gaffi and equipped her Acklay-enhanced, stun baton and started beating the ever-living daylights out of the MCH's precious Rancor that Isuddenly realized,..... that was where I had to sacrifice DNA type to get certain specials and the resist for stun damagewentabitskinny.

It waskinda hard for me to swallow when I did the very best I could do to meet all the requirements requested by the CH.Justattaining CL69 without going over was tough....thengetting the specials, HAM, and resist to take on the combine wasa job too....alas, only to see the petand MCH take a shot from 1337 kiddie anda text message of "I PWNZRD JOO POKEE!" as he laid on his backwithso many statesit went off the bar.....the fencerdidn'tDB him, which was really decent of them. I wanted to /tell the kid to taketheir sliced, 80%kinetic composite off and unbuff to make it a challenge but, they played with all the advantages the game has to offer....legally. I can't slightthem for that.

At first, I felt terrible for the CH, then I mulled the creatures DNA notes over a lime Kool-Aid and strawberry bagel wondering what I could have done differently. Then I came to my senses....and gave myself a pat on the back for the hard work I had put into making that creature. It lasted much longer than I hadanticipated and the Fencer, being a smart PvP'er, took advantage of the creature's weakness. That's exactly what I would have done too.

I tried to reconcile with the MCH and ask if he had tried getting the secondary stats buffed on his pet before PvP happened. He said, he didn't have a chance as he was getting missions at the terminal, with his pet out and didn't know he was declared. He was surprise attacked but, managed to takeout the novice BH and the other TKM with no problem.... and the fencer basically finished him off with what the other two had started.

All in all, the MCH did very well in the given circumstances and thecreatured performed as well as it could in PvP. I ultimately wish creatures could hang in PvP.....and, maybe some day they will.

In the CH forum, yesterday I believe, I started a thread discussing MCH PvP potential in reference to the "Befriend" command.

We came to a conlusion that PvP is so broken for CH such that even if you had 10 of your favorite MCH "Befriend" their monster BE pets to you in a battle you still prolly wouldn't stand a chance. Even with 10-20 pets fighting for you!

I was a CH (technically still am, but I'll be surrendering those skills soon) and I can tell you what the problem is. The nerf the creature handlers got was an over-nerf. Instead of equalizing the Creature Handler, the devs batted it so hard its beyond being a bad joke.

In PvP: creatures do 1/4 damage, while taking full damage. Generally, their secondary attributes are not on par with characters. Throw on some defense stacking and creatures are a joke.

The problem lays in finding a good balance for creature handlers. If creatures are on par with players then a CH/Rifleman is basically always going to have a 2 on 1 advantage in a duel because their creature is equal to the other player plus they can sit at range and headshot 3, mind shot, etc. How to fix this issue, I'm not sure.

Some have suggested making creature handler skills cost more points so they can't invest as many in combat professions as their creatures become their weapons. Do that and bring creatures back up to pre-nerf standards (maybe a little lower) and you might have balance. I dunno.

I feel for Bio-Engineers because even though you aren't directly effected, you are indirectly effected in a serious way as you lose sales of petstims and BE pets. Especially with everyone have vehicles now, who needs a level 10 mount anymore?
