Thread: What do I need?

I am sure there are other posts, but I am at work and in a hurry, sorry.

What do I need to start mining and tinkering. I just got the novice Artisian skill. I am trying to make a marksman/artisian.

What is the best way to mine? Can I macro it? What about tinkering? What equipment do I need?

Any advice is appreciated.

I agree with the last post. Start off by making all of the other survey tools and then you'll be able to start crafting some better items.

I'm going down the same path and this is working for me so far. Keep at it!

What do I need as far qualities to make food aditives and tailor. Just to clarify my question what stats am I to be concerned with? PE OQ Flavor and such?Which stat am I to be concered with? I am not even close to make money off being a BE yet. I am just trying to figure out what resources are grinding material and what is worth keeping for when I get high enough to make quality goods.

The 3 stats are weighed equally. If you're working with resources that only use OQ and don't list PE/Flavor save the highest OQ for your non-grinding. For the resources that list all 3 qualities you ideally want high numbers in all of them, and when you have a wide range of numbers (i.e. 500 900 100) the high and low will average each other out.

Meanwhile, if you have the time to stockpile things now for when you start working on the higher-end schematics later, keep an eye out for good milk and wild meat. If you plan to do more chef tissues you'll need domesticated meat, and for tailoring you'll need bone/avian bone, eggs, reptile meat, and insect meat. High end pet stims/vits will use Dant fiberplast, Endorian flower fruit, fish, and unknown radioactive. If you plan to supply all 3 lines actively you're going to find yourself stretching yourself thin on time and supplies, so it's easier to focus on just one or two. There are overlapping requirements for chef and tailor or for chef and pet meds, while tailor tissues and pet meds have no real mutual ingredients beyond the generic organic/ creature resource type categories.

You can use http://www.swgcraft.com/currentresources.phpto see what resources are currently available on your server and what stats each has. Just make sure you check the reporting date on each listing so you don't run out to Endor for a resource that shifted yesterday. They also have all the schematic ingredients listed, though there are a few minor errors. They don't have a category for "creature resources" so they substitute "creature food" where hides or bone may work in a few of our schematics.

Thank you very much Smonkey. I was planning on providing more Tailor needs for my Master Tailor guildmate. Though I was thinking of doing the crossover into the chef additives as well. Been reading alot around here and as always I get a very friendly and prompt response from the BE community. I thank you again.

Fill up your lots with Harvestors, you will probably want at least 2 factories.

As to grinding, your best bet is to read the stickied help threads at the top, they will give you great info.
