I told the Tailor that with my current resources.....I could make 10 crates of +4/+16 Melee/Stun Def tissues and have them ready bytomorrow. He said, "No thanks...I only buy +4/+17 or higher"
Holy smoke.......
We must have a hell of lot of BE's on Tempest making Tailor tissues to be so discriminating.....
I realize that +4/+17 is probably the norm or maybe even a little on the high end but, sheeez.....1 pt.
Does anyone think that there is a market for my lowly, +4/+16 Tensile Strength tissues or am I washed up in the Tailor tissue market?....lol.

Well, here's from the tailor's point of view:
When somebody asks me as a tailor for clothing with stun/melee defense, it's always the melee part that they care about, not the stun. Nobody has ever complained to me that the stun value is too low (and I've sold a lot of +14 or +15 clothing). But I've had several customers infer that I was some kind of moron for making the stun so high and the melee so low ("Dude, can't you make the melee high and the stun low? How come you did it that way?").
But when it comes to selling to tailors, it's a tailor pride thing. Nobody wants to be the guy selling +16 tissues when the guy next door is selling +17, even if the guy wearing the clothing doesn't care one bit about the difference. Actually, you're probably lucky that they are not demanding +18, lol.

I am having trouble finding resources to make better than 4/16 as well. Not having a ton of trouble selling them, as of yet. *crosses fingers*

as a former tailor point of view : if someone care about the stun defence he will want +25. That means he will have to wear two piece of clothing with +13 or more.
Person A : Wears two piece at +17 = +25
Person B : Wears two piece at +13 = +25
no difference.

90% of all purchases are done on a whim (e.g. going shopping and thinking 'oh thats nice') - if people had the choice between a piece of clothing that a +13 bonus and a +17 then I think it's pretty clear that they would be blinded by the superior piece of work and wouldn't mind paying the odd extra thousand to get it.

which basically means that we have all turned into bargain shoppers and the others are just fool hearty and careless with their money.
I like that.

Ah....this is so funny...listen to this.
I went ahead and ran the order just to have some in stock. Afterwards, I tookseveral of those +4/+16 Tensile tissues from an incomplete crate of 15 and put them on the bazaar in Coronet, hoping to drum up some business from another tailor looking for tissues. Get this......the very same tailor who said my tissues were substandard bought my tissues off the bazaar. I was like..... huh? I don't think they even looked at who created the tissues...they just bought them.
I asked if they would like to buy the 10 cratesof Tensile tissues in my shop and they said, "Sure!!!"
Then I pointed out that I was one of theBE's that they had told +4/+16 tissues weren't good enough.
The person laughed and said, you must be mistaken......I said, "uh-huh.....maybe so".....and thenI sold the tissuesto him without makingthemeat alot of crow.
It was justtoo funny....

The best Ive made is +4/+18.....is it even possible to get +5?? I think the melee defense is much more valuable than the other part....

When it comes to making the melee/stun defense tissues, I usually try for +4/+18 on them. I don't even bother making factory runs on them because the only tailor items that take more than one reinforced cloth are the jackets and the bodysuits. Now, my alt is a master tailor and I know what sells. Jackets and bodysuits with melee/stun defense are not big sellers. The formfitting shirt and workshirt (both can be worn under armor) are the big sellers with those defenses on it. Also the pants with those defenses are good sellers. Next are bandoliers. All of these things take only one tissue.
The reason why I'm saying all of this is that it's pretty easy to find good quality meat, bone, hide, etc. in small quantities. Smaller quantities that one would normally turn their nose up at because it's not enough for a decent factory run. But, using it to make tissues instead of factory crates, I churn out +4/+18 ALL of the time now. My master tailor alt makes good money because people really would rather buy a higher stat item and double up on it, even though after +25 it's not counted. That isn't something I hide from my customers either. I even have one of my vendors state that in their greeting.
Give the smaller quantities of good materials a try. You could make good money selling the tissues piece by piece.

10 crates is a serious order indeed but as long as you have +4on the melee - the rest won't matter - I've made +17's usually in runs of 8 or 10, I use left over resources or small quantities I find on the bazaar for next to nothing cos my main income comes from selling additives to chefs - I make a million every 3-4 days just from one guild mate chef - and if I could get meat fast enough I'd supply two more outside the guild for much more. The 3 or so Tailors i know do very little modded clothes cos it's such a pain to get the tissues and the Tailor/BE players can kill them on price - lately I have simply donated the tissues free in return for a free set of garments at an unspecified date.
