Thread: Easy way to determine what schematic number?

A couple problems.
My grind schematic for my doctor changes everytime he gains a new box. It also changes if I'm near a public food/chem crafting station or have my medical droid out.
Is there anyway to actually find the number?
Counting doesn't work from the left as people have suggested before.

Dont 'sort' your schematics in any way.
Counting from the left works if you count only the schematics for the tool you are using in an unsorted list.
Also your schematic number shouldnt change after gaining a box if you dont log out/zone in any way.
If you grind near a trainer you should only need to change the number once a day.

Thanks!
Would make it simple if they just numbered the darn things.
However I don't understand the "tool you are using" thing.
I am using the food/chem crafting tools x8, and yes I zoned to go get a new box and it did change. Was #86 (just the simple bio controler) and now it's not anything from 86-120!
Will just start around 50 and try from there.

Each tool has a schematic listing so the list in your datapad will show ALL the schematics you have but if you're using a food/chem tool you only count the food and chem items.
If you were eg a weaponsmith BE you would skip over all your weaponsmith schematics when you're counting to find the number of the BE schematic you're looking for.
I would recommend grinding near enough to a trainer that you dont have to zone to train but far enough away that you're not going to get interupted by passing doctor droids.

Pets count as food/chem items cos we dont have our own tool.
Count all the item that you can craft with that tool. All medic/doc schematics, all BE schematics, (not scout) all chef/artisan foods are counted but nothing else.

Thanks I found it. Right now it's 45. Yesterday because I was near a crafting station it was 86.
That method worked well for getting close - and then I now memorized what was 3 each way so that if I get close again I know which way to go. =)
Thanks again for your help! Even though my sig says Anack is a Master Doctor he's 1 box away so wanted to get that out of the way.

This means do not count pets I assume.
What about nutrients / Bio-engineered tissues?
