I've been offline for a while, but I'm back now and tried making some Broad Spectrum Nutrients with my old resources.
Eboti (Carnivore Meat)
FL: 935
PE: 788
OQ: 922
Owai (Fungus)
FL: 838
PE: 994
OQ: 933
In the past, my initial combine would be 28% and with 2 great success (8 points and 2) I would have BSN's at 88. Now when I combine I get 26% initial combine and 87 final product.
Nothing has changed.I don't get it.

I don't think anything's changed. I ran your ingrediants through the tissue calc and keeping flora the same you'd have to have a PE of 980 on the meat (with OQ and FL being the same) to just get 88%. Is it possible you're off with what you remember? I ask this becuase that's a pretty large difference and I think others would have noticed if there had been a change that big.

Could you have been using wood or another flora for one of the organics?
Was your previous +88 on a single attempt or multiple ones? If it was a single attempt, it could have been a lucky assembly that let you boost it past the normal maxium.

I've noticed that an amazing in the the experimentation will sometimes up the number of the additive by 1. This is about the only item I've noticed were getting an amazings influences the final stat of the item.

I have a question on that "lucky" experimentation. Two days ago I took some mediocre meat and went to make some BSN's...the resources I used should only give me a +85 on BSN's (24% initial assembly). Yet the very first try resulted in a initial 28% and a final result of a +88 BSN (no amazing successes). Ok, tried again and this time it came out to the expected +85. Then tried another fifty times or so and twice more got +88's. Now, they weren't "Amazing Successes" on assembly. Matter of fact, several times in the 50 attemptsor so I tried I got amazing successes on assembly and it still came out at +85. And amazing sucesses during experimentation never changed the fact that it was going to bea +85 or +88 BSN, just how many experimentation points I had left over at the end.
Thinking back on this I remember the only time I ever got Active Biosensors to +18 was using resources that usually only gave +15, but I was so happy to hit that high on the Act Bio's that I didnt stop to think about it till later. I just made a schematic and got as much of that corellian insect meat as I could, lol.
So, is this a bug? Or are we supposed to get those randomly high craftings every so often (although I really doubt that, sounds more like poor code to me).

Were these 50ish successive attempts using identical resources in exactly the same way - nothing different ie location/droid/ foods etc?

Yep, all in my house using the same exact resources each time.

I like this elusive lucky-assembly, it adds something more to the simple crafting. If it can boost +85 to +88, jeez, maybe you could get +90 with +88... but I'd be shocked. Wonder how it works, really...

I really don't know much about the lucky assemblies other than they happen. I never reconized I had one until my final product was better than anticipated.
It could conceivably be a bug, however I am more inclined to think it is the critical assembly counter-part to the critical failure.
