Thread: random ramblings
BE i think should be able to make genetic mutations of wild beasts or even new beasts not available in the wild. Like a durny with the speed of a gurroc or a med armor rating jax. A jax head on a blurgg body. Some mutations would carry some verybenicial effects while others may cause unwanted sideeffects like over argessionand attacking things from its genetic backgroun with out being told todo so.
I think we should be able to DNA sample from NPC's too and be able to make clone senit beings that would help the class alot. (as soon as you figure out the droid certs the same could also apply here.
Another thing: cloaning terminals should be craftable by BE and placable in player cities and PA halls.
Insurance terminals should be droid eng. I say this since it would make perfect logic to thing that you would send a droid to recover the remains.
Smuggling missions should be put in. Moving contraband through hostile territory and other such things. Increased chance of imperial crackdown scans. Starport searches. Also want gopher missions. Smuggler gets a mission to aquire somehow, no questions asked, a set number of a certain item type. This would help integrate crafters and such into the picture.
Dynamic missions that take several hours or even days to finish should be put in. The quests from RoTW are very very good. I've liked the ones I've done a lot. But those are static. Once you're done you're done. And if you're a lazy curr you just read the walk through. I want missions of the same type generated dynamically from random npc's you talk to. The framework is in place. You can already get mini go fetch missions and such from random npcs, so it shouldn't be too much harder to get a longer random mission generated.
A lot of people seem to hate fluff the devs put in. Things that serve no mechanical purpose. I'm the opposite. I think we need far more of this. I haven't seen a new building that architects can design since I was one a year ago. Why can't we get casinos and workshops and hunters lodges and jedi huts and outdoor merchant stands and anything else like that? These things add to the immersion factor far more than tweaking the T21 to do .0654 less damage.
Anyways, just a few thoughts. Have to apparently do work now so I'm off
Hehe, I'm the reference librarian at a University library. On Fridays, nobody come in so it's just me and the forums to keep me sane. Today was a good Friday.
I'm the "just-incase" guy. I work nights here to make sure stuff from the day gets wrapped up and watch over the systems to fix any errors or priorities that may come in. It's a good job though - low stress, no one to bug me, and all my superiors clock out an hour after I get here...
I read the forums, a lot...

oh yeah, random rambling... All I want is a knife-fighting monkey with a bandana and maybe an eyepatch for Cooter...Message Edited by Cooter_Scylla on 07-08-2005 08:27 PM
Night tech is so much fun
I love it, hehe. Unfortunately I'm feeling the need to be restless and I think I'll move maybe. I just hope my next job is as "fulfilling" hehe. Forget ambition or having a challenging job, those kind of people are crazy, this rocks!
I even got a raise, a promotion and a raise, 2 bonuses for 25% of my salary, plus an iPod this year because I'm good at monitoring things... hehe. I like this job, no social life though...
