Recently made Master CH (pats self on back) ... I ran off to buy a Bio-Engineered Rancor Level 68.

The deed showed up in my inventory (not my datapad). It had a radial (Examine/Destroy/Tame) so

I tried "Tame" and it told me "You lack the skill to be able to tame this creature".

I thought my MCH skills would be sufficient (Max level 70; Taming Wild +90; Taming Vicious +50)

but apparently they are not???

The BE has kindly offered to accept a return, but I'd rather be able to tame and use the beastie.

Can anyone offer me a hint? This is my first BE pet so hopefully I'm just doing something

really stupid ... hopefully ...

Try investing in a shirt/hat enhanced with taming tissue. Try to get maxxed out to the +25 cap. Not sure if this'll help, but when I was a 4/3/3/3 CH, I was unable to call a CL 45 Toxic Merek Battlelord. (At 4/3/3/3, max CL level is 45.) Wearing a taming hat, I was able to call it.

I've experienced this numerous times before, and there's no need for a refund or anything like that. You have to get some clothing with +taming vicious/wild creatures, what happens is at the very high levels, like CL 68-70, a creature might pass your CL check, but fail on the vicious/wild creature rating and the problem is they don't give you an indication of *why* you don't have enough skill. So, you get the clothing, I'd recommend +13 or more, put it on and voila! tamed beasty.

Can I borrow taming clothing from some kind soul, tame the beast, return the clothing

and then use the Rancor? Or would I need to wear this magical clothing every time

I called out the pet in order to control it? (not soliciting , just looking for info!)

Sounds like the recommendation is to get some enahncement clothing that would

add at least 18 to my current level 50 taming vicious so that I can tame the beastie.

Beginning to think this is a daunting task!

There is a check everytime you call the pet as well so you'd have to have the clothing on whenever you wanted to use the pet. I have a friend who has to do this exact thing.

just a getting curious does anyone know if you use a skin for something like a durni skin for your highest level pet dna will u still require vicous/taming clothes to tame and call or does that only apply to creatures like rancors and kimo's??

If the BE pet is in an aggressive skin and it is over CL50, a MCH will need the relevant BE tissue to tame and call the pet.

If it is not in an aggressive skin, you do not need the BE tissue.

For a list of aggressive skins, please refer to "Minimum Clone Skin Levels/Aggressiveness Rating V 2.0"

i suggest getting the +to taming in a leather trimed shirt , it holds 2 will cap at +25 and can be worn under all armor. i do this with my doc shirts. just my 2 cents

What happens if you put on your shirt, call your pet and then take the shirt off ?

I presume there's no other checks made ?

Just wondering but i can test it myself if necessary... only ever use my CL69 to get higher level missions from terminals.

Personally, I invested in the BE clothes.

You'll be rather upset if you find a Bull Rancor babyand have no way of boosting your "aggro" tameand you'll need them to call other high level aggro skins (high level Kimo's are another one you won't be able to call without them).
