I am well on my way into the BE prof. 2 2 0 2, and am wondering what the best way to start splicing is... I am looking to finish up all my crafting, then hit the DNA sampling tree hard... Any suggestions as to where I should start? Or should I wait for patch? And what kind of animals are good to start off sampling? Any help would be greatly appreciated... thx.

I just made my second box into dna sampling. Just stay on the starting planets and sample anything and everything. You will find that red con mobs are good exp but the time spent for each one isn't worth it cause too many failures. A good way of doing this is to get the tuffest missions you can from the starter planets and dna sample the mobs instead of killing them.

Use muon gold when you find a patch of large number of mobs cause each sampling takes a big chunk out of your mind. I think there are chef foods or drinks that does the same thing as muon gold.

A buff from a Musician will enhanceyour focus/willpower with no downer and not having to take anything with you. Depending on the skill of the musician, it can be anywhere from 10% (Novice)to 100% (Master). Anyone with the title Virtuoso can do 75%. Dancers can buff your base mind pool in the same fashion (their 75% able title is Enthraller). Get one of each and you should have a much easier time sampling DNA for 1.5 to 2 hours. Personally, I'd rather have a Musician buff, but I'm a wee bit biased, perhaps. I'll take lowered cost and faster regen over a higher base pool any day, though.

The first 2 boxes I did on Corellia. Running around Tyrene sampling everything. For Box 3 I did Bols/Huurtons/Picktes in Dantooine. For Box 4 I did Dantooine and Dathomir.

Moun Gold is your friend. A very good friend.

The way I honestly do it is this:
Find a relatively unpopulated newbie spawn area. Get musician/Dancer buffs (no problem if you make friends in the cantina ) along with muon, and mind foods from a chef. I stack all four types of buffs at points, and I cannot sample fast enough. I supppose if you were really desperate, you could create a macro?
something like
target creature
follow
pause 5/10/15/whatever
sample
sample
pause 120
sample
sample
pause 120
looping this would go after one creature and sample it until dies/you run out of mind, if it wors. I up on the spot, after all.

Good luck with the sampling tree!

Darn it! I also meant to say, I get DNA from Pikets on Dantooine. Non-aggressive, don't deathblow, mid-range DNA...and you get cash for killing the lairs if you take missions for them. I used to make heavy use ofMask Scent when I had the skill. Startled animals are likelier to aggro on you.

Currently I generation clonesfor the DNA for good gurreks and such. I guess I'm going to need to go find fun stuff into the bums of which I can stick sterile q-tips after the changes. Or maybe I just won't bother with anything really hard. I'm honestly morea Tissues Engineer.

Greetings,

I'm a Master CH and working towards Master BE, I have DNA sampling Lvl 4 at the moment. Is there an Easy way to tell what lvl creatures I CAN DNA and/or which ones are too High til I hit Master BE? I've Tried Mutant Rancor's and Arachne Queens and always Fail, so I imagine I must need to be Master for them. Is there an easy way to tell? or is it Guesswork/Experience

Thanx
