Thread: Assembling a Clone (How do you combine the DNA and make it count?)

HI all.

I am curious on the whole Assembly line. I have done several Templates and I have tried to match the high stats in the right field, but when I combine it, All the stats are very low (most below 150), while Dependability is way up. Also in the experimentation the psychological Profile is far above any of the other stats. mostly the other stats are below 15%.

1) How do you put together a good combination of DNA to make the rest of the stats to be higheer before experimentation?

2) And what does Dependability do/mean? To me it sounds like a high Dependability means the pet is dependant on the owner and the commands from the owner. Meaning in case the owner of the pet is attacked the pet wont do much unless told to. (Although that could maybe be said about all the pets)

3) Also, when you have made a bunch of pets. (lets say 5 using grizzled dewback in all the templates) then resample these 5 pets. What in the following 5 DNA samples will go up and what will go down, compared to the 1st generation DNA sample.

4) I understand that the DNA samples plays a big part in the stats on the final creature, but does the creature selection also affects the outcome? For example. If you use Grizzled Dewback DNA in making a Gnort and a Dewback. Will the Dewback be much stronger then the Gnort? (Based in the inert ability the creature have in the wild) Or is it all based on the DNA samples?

I have made a gnort with roughly 3k ham using CuPa and Dewback DNA. I also made a Kaadu with 4k HAM using Ronto DNA.

Both do damage in the 150-180 range.

This tells me it is all based on the DNA samples, since I also made a Kaadu with no more then 200 HAM and crap damage.

Being a BE sure is fun, but if I would ever have a chance to make good pets I do need to understand how to put the DNA together.

I would really need your help to answer these questions.

Thank you.

I'm mostly baffled by my experiences here too. It's all black magic. I'm relying on others to figure out how to make what is cool and spoon feed me the information. None of my experimentation is consistent.

Personally I am still trying to figure out what makes specials on the output DNA. Sometimes I put a sample with a certain pecial in psych and aggression and I get that special in the DNA product, but then I do the same thing and get a product with a special from a DNA sample in one of the other 3 DNA spots. I am baffled here completely.

Hmm my experience so far :

The agreasive slot and the Phykological have a great impack on CL .

When i make a non ch pet i sample 1 of my former pets, as i can usualy always get 1 dna sample out of em without making them disapear, then i sample a lousy sample from a gnort or flesh eather...

I use the sample from my own creature for phyk and the lousy for agreasive. Then i use very good dna for the other slots . Experiment the phyk to full, prowes to full, and i still get about 8 cl ...

Resistance is a mysteri, it also have a great impact on CL, but how to get what, how its calculated i do not yet understand. And specials and ranged attack is a matter of having enough of a type , i think

Okay,

So what I get out of the new system is:

1) The DNA samples do most of the work -- depending on the type of creature sampled.

I have made killer bunnies out of Huf Dun DNA. Yet when I tried to go by CL -- I got CL 10 samples to make a CL 10 creature -- I made a lower level creature. But when I used the Huf DNA it maxed the CLto 10.

2) It sounds like the specials are also dependent on the type of samples used. Reading the other strings, it looks like a lot of people are experimenting with some success.

I would like to know the basic guidelines though. I'm uncertain about a lot in this area -- it sounds like the specials don'talways come through into the creature from the samples, and depending on which slot you place the special DNA into depends on whether it sticks or not . . . can anyone verify this? I'd love to start maximizing the use of my skills!

Thanks, MtFBwY
