Thread: So peeps dont forget especially directed to Lamers replacement
Unfortunatly time does not allow me to consider it dor and anyway im too busy atm flaming the post cu jedi whiners on the jedi forum trying to teach them how to actually play the game and use things like foods ![]()
I dont have the pre cu pet knowledge but did own 2x non ch 10K ham light armor strong poison weilding kitty cats. I do however have the med crafting bit under my belt so know exactly what issues we face on that front. I searched the global bazaar this morning for meds looking at the comptetion and what they were making and there msut have been 4 people making and 3 people making pets. 4 Med public med crafters, thatsa HUGE decrease from 6 months ago. Would love to see the astro stats on how many of us there actually are that are not part of a base demo bot. (MBE only)
Our profession is now soooo hard to get started in peeps dont bother. Its a true shame. Resource restraints coupled with the fact that BioE does nothing for CL level means we are curently in trouble.
I dont blame the new peeps. Being a BioE isnt on the path to jedi that they all know and strive for and when they get there they make a chef alt to supply themselves with food.
Im oldschool 700+ days with a few accounts and the liberty of being able to afford to keep them all running and a love for the game to keep me here for ever and a day regardless of any changes but we really need to make the profession more appealing otherwise we are doomed to extinction like the sharnaff lairs were (the tents) so many moons ago on the south horizon of coronet.

Is there any BE out there who knows ALL of these areas well? I know that I have not applied for the BE corr position because I would be completely unequipped to represent base busters or pet crafters (or even DNA samplers) having never done it.
ME!! ME!!!!! ![]()
I made a master chef to use my BE chef tissues and supplied our town for a while so I know how to do it but not all that well.
I made a master tailor to use my BE tailor tissues and supplied our town for a while - and they are still waiting for more ![]()
I know pet crafting.
I've done all aspects of med crafting b/c i have been a master CM (making my own meds on that) and a pet-stim maker and also pre-CU used to help my pal get buff-pack resources as part of our game (and make some buff-packs but not very good ones but I know the effort involved).
I know enough about tissues and med crafting to explain in detail how to do it well although I cannot actually do it WELL at the moment b/c I don't have the resources!
I've taken down my fair share of bases!!!! At least 8 if not more ...
What I've never done is kept anything going properly for longer than 2-3 months ![]()
vote for me !!!! but wait a sec .. it's not an election and SOE has to decide. But I forgot to put all that in my letter of application ![]()
Wonder who will get it?

I couldn't agree more. You definitely get my vote. What I was getting at is that the pet crafting 'prong' needs solid representation right now. You are the first choice of many on this forum. I just hope that the other prongs are represented well by the new correspondent (should be fairly easy to get a list together of the med/tissue issues - one thread should do it).

I was listening to the Galaxy Report the other night. What shocked me was that the Ranger correspondant said that the Ranger community had drawn up a document of all that they desired in the Ranger profession. He said that when they made the Ranger revamp, the previous Ranger correspondant was not even consulted and that he (the previous) had to learn about it on the Ranger forums.
Every single person that I know of, who has ever been a correspondant has come away from it discouraged and upset. Every single BE correspondant has ended up quitting the game after their term was up.
Having said that, I am sure that the resplacement (whoever it is) will not forget these things. I am sure that whoever they pick will be a good correspondant and remember the 4-pronged fork of BE. Have you applied yourself? You would make a good correspondant as well as many I can think of (we still haven't heard who has it yet have we?). But it doesn't hurt to put together a list of what is important to us all ...

Ojes wrote:I agree with the overall sentiment of this thread. There are many things to remember about the 4 or 5 BE functions:Pet CraftingMed CraftingChef Tissue CraftingTailor Tissue CraftingBase Busting...you could possibly even put DNA sampling in here as a function (don't know if it stands on it's own though). Is there any BE out there who knows ALL of these areas well? I know that I have not applied for the BE corr position because I would be completely unequipped to represent base busters or pet crafters (or even DNA samplers) having never done it.From my point of view, there is a lot more depth in the pet crafting system that needs to be understood (and addressed) than there is in any of the crafting aspects. The fact that a simple list of issues/desires can be put together such as the original poster has would be impossible for the pet crafting piece (at least without each bullet being backed up/explained by an accompanying paragraph).I think this profession must be represented by a pet crafter. Hopefully, that person will be able to find a way to advocate for the rest of us since the issues can be so clearly presented without a ton of background knowlege.

There are plenty BEs out there who know all of this, or near enough...
I have not aplied for the cor positin for many reason, not least because I was pipped to the post by both Arthur and Lam...and the fact that my disgust for the current pet system has turned me into a lurker/troll.
However...
I am currently a Chef, and a BE (Both Masters)
I take part in Base Demo as a BE/SMuggler
I use Chef tissues for my Chef/Artisan
I have been a Marster Tailor in the past (I actually have some tailor skills still), and my g/f is currently a Master Tailor
I was an old skool mad scientist
I was a Pre CU Doc, and still sell stims (Accounting for about 10% of my total income) (I admit I stay away from enhancers because hte resources and the demand just dont make it worth my time)
I admit I do not have a CH...however I think my old skool mad scientist days should more than counter that flaw...
The point is, there are many who are able to fulfil the role competently, just most of them are either too busy, or see the correspondant role for what it is...a bone thrown to the community of little value.
I do not envy the next correspondant. There was a time when I put myself forward for the role (twice in fact), however, a little part of me is relieved I didn't get the job...

If circumstances change in 6months time...I might apply then, but atm, the timing isnt right.
If the new cor needs a hand with anything, then i'd be willing to lend my support, even if its someone to chat to
