Thread: BE's on Ecplipse, please read.
Good thing I am not on eclipse, otherwise I would have no idea what it is I am suppose to test since it wasn't communicated what was done.
We need proper documentation for how the current system should work so we can bug it. We need proper documentation for any changes or updates/fixes so we can properly test those changes.
We can not test some random fix to fix this undefined problem that may or may not be the problem we are thinking of that may or may not have been fix.
That seems a little bit cryptic Talth, could you please clarify what they want exactly?
i.e. Are they looking to fix CL 71 pets made by BE's, or something else?

I received a message from TH referencing the following thread on the Eclipse board. If any BE's on Eclipse are around to check it out, it would be a big help.

Greetings Bio Engineers!
As some of you may know, there is an issue with some pets. People have found a way to engineer pets that are a higher level, but because of the level restrictions, there are people with pets they can't call.
We think we have a fairly easy fix for it andput a live update on Eclipse.
It would be a big help if we could get some feedback!
Thanks.

I'm on eclipse, and I have a cl10 uber pet that was invalid, as well as a CL15 with almost identical stats that was also invalid, and huge bag full of dna.
Won't be home for a couple more hours though.

Could you send a message to TH to give a little detail on what exactly they fixed, what are we supposed to be looking for?
Already have
Hi Talthazar,
I have 5 BE Pets on Eclipse I've created and have growing or are full grown. All are callable now. 4, I crafted 5 days ago and 1 I crafted today. Of course they also were callable yesterday as well.
If you need me to test some things, please let me know.
I also just tamed, trained and recalled a baby brack cl13 that I made two days ago. It seems to be working fine.

I'm guessing this proves two things:
a) There's no Bio Engineer's on test center
b) Being able to Copy a character from a live server to test center just became that more valuable.
Actually I am a BE on Test Center, and I know 3 or 4 masters. There are also several dozen non-masters. Eclipse just has a huge population and therefore (possible) the most bugged pets.
Just tamed one of my cl9s I made from pikets and lesser plains bols the other day. it's a 5.3k/3.7k/1.7k HAM 1st generation Angler. no problems calling it, but i guess it's still a baby... my cl66 gurreck and cl53 razor cat (tamed yesterday, so cl10 now) still work ok.
Please tell us what we're supposed to be testing, lol...
PS. Earlier a guy that bought a cl10 Bantha from me the other day told me that his pet was callable again today, after reporting it uncallable yesterday. But I guess that was part of the relaxation program...
My CL 20 that was invalid yesterday is valid again today.
8K Health, 40%KR (rest are 20% or vul), Dizzy, 280-290 damage
i too am on eclipse. From the wording on the original message, I can only assume they are talking about the "cannot call level 65-70 pets" bug that I've heard crops up on the big guys (hasn't happened to any of mine that I know of, haven't received complaints at least).
Of course, that's a wild-assed stab in the dark from my end, it'd be helpful if we had more information on what exactly they're looking for/what bug they're really trying to fix.
The next publish, we're told, will have a way to normalize the stats->CL or CL-> stats (unsure which, or both), so invalid pets can be valid again. Presumably at that time, at the latest, strict valid/invalid enforcement will come back into being.
Talth, can you do us a huge favor, and try your hardest to get a definition of what is invalid? Their solution this time around was vastly better than some of the ones I was afraid they were going to do. But it raises the spectre of 'Through enough generations of refinement, a 'valid' pet made from legal dna, with no exploits, could pass the line and become invalid... without knowing the line, those BEs who are striving to find a way to make the best won't know (until they waste days/weeks/etc worth of work) they're in danger of crossing it until AFTER they've sold the deed, the other person has tamed it (and trained it if they can) and go to call it again.
What I'm afraid of, is that they'll put down overly strict checks on CL vs. Stats, and we'll once again lose completely the ability to make a pet that in any way exceeds the wild. We already have things that can be tamed by CHs that can't be made by BEs (things with 'unknown attack' and 'plague strike', I've never been able to get the specials to stick from the dna samples that have them), and the armorsmith bug with special protections (and the alterations made this week with creature resistances making special resists more common) in pet creation are making it harder and harder to make viable variations on things as is.
