Thread: Is this level 17 pet legit?
I'd been a CH long ago but never reached master before I dropped it, but I just recently decided to re-enter the profession. I had enough banked exp to get to 1/1/1/1 but sadly had no pets and began a search for a decent level 20 or less pet to begin with. I stumbled upon a BE shop that had a few underwhelming pets, to say the least, but did find one that appealed to me so I bought it. Now my question, do the stats on this pet seem reasonable for a level 17 creature, because I don't want to have my pet go poof without a backup in my datapad. Any thoughts would be nice, since I'm not a BE and have little idea how the experimentation process with pets goes.
Level 17 Gurrcat
Ham 8300+/6500+/6000+
No armor
Resistances - 50% KR, 10-15% on 3-4 random dmg types
Damage 150-160
No special attacks
It seems like a decent creature to level with, but I don't want to be hit when the bugged creatures are corrected, so I figured I'd ask the experts here in the BE forum for a general concensus.
Thanks a bunch
First off, no one knows what is or isn't legitimate since we haven't heard anything official that contains details. We do know that the BE lead considers the low CL high HAM pets "unbalanced." There was a nerf last week that was reversed -- probably temporarily.
My initial *guess* (and that's all it is) on this pet is that the HAM looks high for a CL 17 pet, but the lack of specials and relatively low damage compensate for it.
There just hasn't been enough time yet to discover exactly where the edge of the envelope is for legitimacy regarding BE pets. And once we get close to discovering the limits, they'll change it.

Compair stats to a wild desert razorback (these stats are off the top of my head, but they should be close)
Lv 24
HAM 7500
Resists 10 or 20%
Dammage 170-190
Some special
So your lv 17 pet looks somewhat comporable to a lv 24 pet. So its probably pretty close to the edge of valid. But as was said above, who knows.
