of being a Bio Engineer if not to make and create better than found in the wild creatures? Yes again I surf the boards and find a post stating how overpowered the BE profession is now, how we are going to be nerfed, how we shouldn't create bunnies that are so powerful, etc... So I ask, what then should a BE be able to do? Should we be strictly limited to tissue engineering for tailors? or pet stims pharmacist for Creature Handlers? Does the "skin" of the creature (i.e. a Durni) bother people so bad that perhaps they should take it out? I have read many posts about the post patch creatures being too strong, but I ask you...Why is it too strong? Is a 9K HAM Durni that is made from Rancors, Mantigrues, and Burrower Queens worse than a 9K Angler made from the same DNA samples? I personally love being a Bio Engineer and even roleplay the part of a Field Scientist out collecting my data (which I actually do input into an Excel spreadsheet). I have no knowledge of the way the BE system was prepatch, however I'm thoroughly enjoing the new system and explore it everyday in my "madscientist" role of creating a better Monster.

the main argument about be pets being too strong wasnt the 9k bunnies... it was the 9k bunnies with 48% resistances, 200-250 damage, cl 5.

again, we should be able to make a pet better than equivilant wild pet.. but only better by so much... allowing us to make something that the dev's tried so hard to remove with the CH/creature CL rebalance just wasnt right.

I would guess its all about what your target market is, I still dont make many clones under lvl 35 since they havent yet decided or detailed what is a legal stat clone and what isnt, I do about 3 custom builds a week for MCH's or near MCH's, most are very detailed about what after stat wise, resists, damage etc, it has its own rewards being able to build a nice pet for someone, and if charge reasonable rates for your time, it can be about as profitable as running missions on the terminals in the same time spent

and the good part is since usually make 3-4 clones for a buyer to select from, it leaves you some to load on the vendor, if you deal with people well and take the time to build quality pets, sampleing the hard to get dna, resample your deeds to get the nice specials, you'll get repeat business, if not from the original buyer, but from thier pa members, friends, or people that say " wow where did you get that pet"

Bio-engineers are designed to enhance and improve, not to empower. That is quite simply the general jist of our situation and your arguement about pets could be leveled at everything we do. Why do petstims cap at around 2000 per heal when the pets can have around 13k of HAM? Why is there a +25 cap on skill enhancements? All of the answers to this is because of balance, you say we should be able to create mobs better than the wild ones.. the fact is we certainly can. If you stick VHQ 5 mantigrue screecher samples into a clone you'll get a copy of that mantigrue for around 5 CL ratings lower than the wild animal. That is quite a significant improvement, one of the reasons why people to struggle to make CL60-70 clones is because if our discounts. The stats are indeed comparable to CL70ish animals though and that is what people need to remember, this discount we get is why we're allowed to sample from CL75 animals.

We're mad scientists, not gods.
