Thread: Knockdown issue
I've often wondered about this myself.I was told to watch the target position icon, and my crippling strike pets did indeed perform the posture down attack and land it occasionally. I wonder if the graphical display just doesn't show up client-side.
As for knockdown specifically...I don't know. I haven't tested it.
I have a CL27 Razor Cat with intimidate and strong disease. I use the special attacks (S1 and S2) and sometimes the hit right away, sometimes after mid fight, sometimes not at all. I usually hit the strong poison for the very first attack. The razor crouches down and starts spittin'.
As for the intimidate, I can see it happen both in the fight area, as well as in the enemy HAM bar.
Just wish that he would do it more often.

For my pet to do special attack on my target, must I "pray" or is there a way to force him to do it (a command ?).
I think i Understand in above post there is a command to force the special attack am I right and if yes can you tell me which command ?
Thank you.

If your pet has it, it will show up in the "teach" menu, if it doesn't, then it won't..
I've a different but similar problem, I've a Blurrg who won't stop spitting ranged, I only tried it out once, and didn't really like the way it's range worked, so I decided to just use it to tank like I always had before, but it never has again. ![]()

The specials that I have found that do *not* work on demand are:
knockdown / force strike (crippling strike, a posture down, does work)
any poison
any disease
For the other specials like stun, dizzy, blind, intimidate, etc., I can press the keyboard key bound to my special attack macro, and the next attack by the pet will show the "+intimidate attack+" or whatever indicator text above its head. Keep in mind that the pet does need to roll to hit, and it also seems that some effects are resisted by higher CL targets (just as they are resisted from player specials).
For knockdown, poison, or disease, no text indicator appears. I have tried all of these on many targets, including low level targets that should not be able to avoid the effects. Hopefully the devs will clarify whether or not these specials are excluded from working "on-demand", and if they are supposed to work, add in text indicators so you know that your pet is at least *attempting* them.
Hope this helps.
Hi be pets do use special attacks without being asked, be pets will use and land poison/disease but not when commanded to and knockdownseems to be affected by relative pet-target size, I am not sure if this is how it is intended to work (my pets can knockdown npc's but not large targets, again they wont use knockdown when commanded to),I use a couple of simple macros to command my pets to use special attacks and they work every time,(excluding the noted exceptions)I can even stack special attacks.
The macros are simply: {
/shout follow;
/shout a1;
}
repeat for special 2.
I have tried simply /shout a1; but it dosn't work, adding the "follow" command makes the difference (note this is not follow target but the command to follow you),go figure.
