Best advice I can offer - get out of the non-CH business. As much as you can make good money from it, they are simply not worth the hassle. At least CH that come along either already know the rough process or are interested enough on creatures to listen to an explanation.

Other crafting professions can have the same effect - tailoring is one, where many customers want hands-on service and end up taking 2 hours to buy a 3k item, after deciding 5 times to change the color (at the tailor's expense). But to an extent it is self-inflicted - you, as a crafter, always have the right to turn down orders if you are busy. I know it can be hard at times to say no but there comes a time when you just have to, and I say say no to the non-CH first, as they are not likely to be long term customers (esp with future droid changes), and keep your CH friends happy.

I pretty quickly switched myself to making Rancors and Gurrecks only in the old system. Once the new system came out I stuck to much the same business practices. I don't make any non-ch at all. For mid-high level pets I tell people to just look on my vendor and whats there is whats there. The only "orders" I do at all are still the very high level pets, CL 60-70. These I just do via a waiting list, tell everyone to email me then as I make them I go down in order on the emails and let them know what Kimo/Rancor/Gurreck/Anglers I have made and what stats. I will use other skins if they ask for them of course, I just tend to use those 4 the most

As a BE we have a ton of stuff to do and that we can be doing, so it really is necessary to turn ALOT of people away or point everyone to your vendor just to help keep yourself sane. I also have always had a vendor stocked with petstims and petvitpacks, always. Also would put up Tissues as often as I could. I am retiring next week after the next big patch, time to see other parts of the game for me.

My recommendation to you is to figure out what parts of the BE class you have fun with and focus on those. Don't worry about helping every single person or you will just end up burned out and not wanting to be a BE anymore or worse not even wanting to play SWG anymore.

1.) I only ever display the MBE title when I want to generate new contacts.

2.) I don't make custom pets - I'll take on-board what skins people want and the kind of thing they want and I'll let them (and my other clients) know when I have put a new batch on the vendor.

Thanks for the great suggestions guys.. I'm going to do a combo of the above after I finish my last special order, some person ordered 20 Non CH Kaadu.. I'll probably just craft once a week, and make 10 or so great Non CH pets, but only put them on my vendor, and point people to it. If what you want isn't there, come back next week and check.

Also it's nice to see other people who understand what I'm talking about. People don't seem to understand how the crafting works, it's not as easy as most everything else. To get my great pets I regularly end up with level 11's and have to start all over. And that's with only using half my experimentation.

Anyway, gonna tell everyone I'm closing shop I think, and go back to the way it was before word got out.Then maybe I'll have to time to actually work on the pets I need for myself still!

Seems like every time I post here it's about how you guys are undercharging.

Charge enough so that it's worth your time to put up with. And maybe you'll drive customers away so you make more money with less work.

Seriously.

In regards to special orders, I just tell them Mother Nature does not take them and neither do I. Especially those that want it yesterday and keep telling you that every 5 minutes. I put everything I make on the vendor and point them there.
