I am wondering where I can get information on what resources are needed for the various BE crafted items?

Check out Sinnyil's site at:

It has all our current items with all the resources needed for each of them.

I didn't see a FAQ.
Anyways. I'm really having a craving to CRAFT. But my account has my COMBAT character on it. Well, a friend of mine decided he wanted a chef/armorsmith alt, so you know.. I'm like "WHOO! I CAN MASTER THOSE PROFESSIONS FOR HIM!" Well, yeah. First off, all I need to know right now(he's going to buy the game.. again.. right now) is what kinds(and how much) of what resources will I need to master artisan?
Help?

up above on this forum is a stickied post labeled Useful Artisan Postings that has some nice thread links that should help with the artisan part...next...
go to the armorsmith and chef forums, both had nice FAQ/guides stickiedthere that explain everything for those professions including resource lists.
good luck

To master artisan (as I've done in less then a week of playing) is just lots of metal. With this you can set a macro and makes it very easy to work in the 'clicking' portion since its just one mineral your clicking. But even the BEST artisan craft does something like 2 experience per mineral invested, with some very small bonus for using your own crafting tools to craft.
The tree is something like 6000 for IV, 3000 for III, 1000 for II, and 500 for I. So... that's 9500 general crafting experience for the three crafting trees, so lets just say 30,000 experience in all.
If you get 2 experience per mineral invested, that means you will need 15,000 minerals to get 30,000 experience. So (if you have the money) go to the market and buy the cheapest minerals around. Then set to work crafting. With 4 crafting tools you can get about 60 experience every couple seconds using one of the better macros. And should speed through it in a few hours.
Similarly, you might want to stock up on wheat, as you can make 'dough' (food not money) for 10 units of wheat or so, and I think (not positive, remember Im new) that crafting it would give you chef-experience not general, and that would likely be helpful too.

Some corrections/additions, meant 10500 above, not 9500.
Also, this is crafting generic, or otherwise metal-exclusive crafting things in your macro.
