well back around 3 months i accidently qualified for novice BIO engy, so i picked it up, and after 3 days of enjoying the prof i said "wow, im not even 1/20 of the way to cloning 1, screw it CM is better.

i like being a pistoleer, and i like bio-engineering because it gives me something to do other than "kill kill kill kill kill" but how long did it take you to master bio-engy? is it a fun profession to go through? do you make any money off of it or do you end up getting screwed because of the connections with chefs and tailors?

Well, phew. I'm glad you see a potential of 'fun' with BE. I warn you though, don't pick it up purely for the credits. If you want credits, do ER missions on dath. We have too many crafters who do it for credits and output garbage (leaving afew pure crafters who make quality products for the pure joy of it). Now, if you want to enjoy BE, then I suggest you use your pistoleer skills to collect loads of low quality crap meat for the crafting lines. Then use the credits from doing those missions to pay for mindbuffs/brandy/doc buffs so you can sample the creatures at lvl3 and 4 so you will survive longer when they aggro. If you have the extra points, I suggest you pick up master scout and invest in fieldwear to get the maskscent/camo bonuses and you're set. How long will it take? It all depends on your levelling habits. If you're a macro grinder, 1 day for crafting and 1 day for sampling. If you're a manual grinder (like I was), then 4 days of crafting and 1 day of sampling (2 weeks really but I had to go out and hunt for more meat when i ran low).

Pretty much as above. Not having a good steady supply of meat, and sampling trash outside Theed, I managed to master BE in about 2 weeks (2-3 days sampling, the rest trying to find meat to grind).

I enjoy BE, as it compliments my tailoring nicely, though once again I have a hard time getting good meat to make my tissues. Fortunately, since I'm making tailor tissues, I don't need uber resources. I just take a couple or a few +13-16 tissues to get the cap of +25.

16 hours of crafting, 12 hours of sampling (4 crafting sessions of 4 hours, 4 buff sessions of 3 hours for sampling)

For sampling try getting some BE'd ahrisa - get good quality stuff and you shouldn't have to worry about the cost of sampling to your mind.
