I'm thinking about starting the BE proffesion, being sick of combat proffesions and the same old boring grind. I understand from other posts that it is a long haul & not easy, but i don't mind that as long as it's interesting (& of course profitable).

What is the general opinion amongst existing BE's and could somebody pls give me an idea as to what proffesions work well with it.

I'm currently Master Scout, Master Carbineer, Medic 3244, marksman 0142.

Also what resources do i need to accumulate to get started?

Well i just finished working through BE. Took about 2 weeks for me. So I will share my opinion

Resources- First off you need a lot of meat, hide, and flora for the crafting (probably in excess of 100k each). The FAQ stickied above has a lot of great info for grinding through the crafting.

Other Professions- I am Master rifleman, and I wouldn't think about going out and trying to sample the high level creatures without either a) having a strong combat class to back myself up or b) having Master Ranger to mask scent and conceal better. (By the way I have done Master Ranger and it is great if you like to hunt big game). More than likely you will need at least Business 3 to have your own vendor as well. So plan on those 24 skill points.

BE in general- I just went on my first DNA gathering trip to Endor and found it was fun to run around and look for Mereks and not worry about grinding. I got a lot of good DNA and I made my first pets last night. Man did they ever suck, but I had lots of fun doing it. BE is so much different from any other professions I have done, and it has provided a nice change of pace. As you said, it isn't the easiest professions, but with the hard work should come the rewards. Also, if you happen to have any close friends that are tailors and or chef, you could go into to business together to make some good money. I haven't been around long enough to know if you can survive financially just making pets, so maybe some one else can chime in about that.

Hope that helped.

BE is by far the most profitable and enjoyable profession.

You make the most money and you dont always have to sit infront of factories sorting through tons of components.

One problem (for me anyway) is that I just got BE and I'm having problemsdiscovering good recipes. Everyone else is pumping out uber CL10's and I can't :-( I did find one old one that was a 3rd generation and it didn't come out right for me anyway (it was CL10 but 7k HAM and only 40% kinetic w/ no armor)

I have to disagree. Good WSs, ASs, and Buffing Docs are much more profitable.

How else would you expect ot to be? If there was one god-profession-end-all in the game, we would all be that profession and this game would not be fun.

Hmm since I doubt you're on my server how would you know what kinds of pets I sell. Just because I don't sell the exploited CL 10s I 'don't sell good pets'? Since you have no idea what you're talking about why don't you stop talking out of your ass.

I've made plenty of millions while being a MBE. I"ve made more than enough for me to be happy with. the FACT is though that everyone uses weapons, armor, and doc buffs. So where do you think the money goes to? Of course we all know how you make your money. Its not 'making good pets', for you its about 'exploiting' the pet check to make all your money.

your supposed CL 10 "EXPLOITED" pets are exactly what makes a pet good. Its also what makes you rich.

CL10 should be near 11khealth 60% kin and a good special

CL21 should be near 11khealth 60% kin Light Armor and 2 good specials

Now since you already said you dont use over powered pets in this and other posts, then I have to assume your pets are below this. This would make them below good!

Wow, and here I thought a 'good' pet was one that met the customers requirements, was for a price they were happy, with and one they could walk away with without any complaints. This was the definition all my pets have been made under and in fact I've never had a complaint from a single customer. I've even had many customers add a few dozen K to the price of their order just because they were so happy with it. I also have the added personal benefit of know that all the pets I've sold wont be made useless by a nerf I know is coming.

Since when is the 'only' good pet one which the devs have said are going to be nerfed?

Billions eat at Mcdonalds without complaints. That doesnt make it good food, only adequate enough for people not to complain about it. And cheap and plentiful to make them buy it.
