As stated I have mastered today and am very confused over the discussions over ethical and non-ethical pets combined with a request from the Correspondent requested recipes for the perfect pets at different levels.

I have no wish to banned for exploiting but I have no dramas using long term bugs. e.g the Merchant Vendor bug.

Could someone please give some guidance either to a website, Dev supported forum posts or better still Dev statements as to HAM and Damage levels intended for each Creature Level. Without published figures I will have no dramas attempting to create as high a quality pet as I can.

Also some direction of what HAM damage levels are competitive in the pet market at the CL's listed in Nancy's Perfect Pet comp.

I am not REPEAT AM NOT trying to reinvent the wheel by creating anflame festpost discussing pet levels just trying to find some goalposts in this at times difficult playing field that SOE has given us.

Unfortunately we cannot provide you with a HAM or Damage per CL list. The Devs have stated they will not provide the CL formula.

What we can tell you is the pet validity check has been put into place because the crafting system allows creatures to be created that are too powerful for their level. Since this is not operating as intended , the devs put in the check. Unfortunately, the check uses the same calculation, so its off too.

The only direct responce from a Dev with a hard HAM and resist number is the CL 10 10K HAM 60% kinetic resist monsters. The devs have specifically said these pets in particular are definately not intended and they will nerf these pets made like this. I'm hoping the combat rebalance also fixes all these pets out there.

Now, the devs have stated the system is not working as intended but have said they will not ban anyone for making these pets. Its up to your sense of right or wrong (or the power of the all mighty credit) as to whether you make these or not. Both sides of the 'discussion' are equally passionate about them. the BE Correspondent's possition has always been one of discouragement. Her (sound) reasoning is, the BE pet market is mostly designed around Creature Handlers since with CH's we can truly custom design our creations. With non-ch pets we are extremely limited in our creativity and the number of pet skins we can use. If we are making these unintended pets that anyone can use without any additional skill points, we are beasically giving a large number a people a reason NOT to be a CH. Less CH's mean less of a need for our truly custom pets. This hurts all the BE's who take pride in making their pets.

Now, the other side of the fence has bascially said that if the system lets you make them, irregardless of what the devs have said, then we should all make them and sell them for whatever people will buy them for. Some will even state the only way to get the problem fixed is for everyone to make these pets and flood the servers with them (the squeeky wheel theory).

What you decide to do is completely up to you. If you decide to get involved in the 'discusion' you'll more than likely be seen as 'wrong' no matter which side you are on.

Pet crafting isn't as easy as weaponsmith or armosmith or tailor.... there isn't a 'set' formula to use to get a particular CL or a particluar resist or anything. There are a forumlas posted on these forums and elsewhere that you can use, but a lot of the Master BE's like pet crafting because it allows them to experiment without a 'fixed' formula to make the 'best' pet. Each of our creations are truly unique.

As far as NancyJ's post about the 'perfect' per foreach set of CL's. Its not a 'here is the perfect pet, anything less is subpar', its more of a 'Here are what your peers think are thier best pets for these levels'. Its all subjective and there won't be any one labeled 'best of the best'

Hope this helps you understand where things are and gives you a place to start in your MBE life.
