Thread: Resources News?

Well, you guys probably know by now that i'm new to BE. Not to SWG but just the profession. I've found many things that work. And others that don't.
Currently, I'm 3333, stopped grinding for a bit to BS lol and get some air. As I need ppl to talk to when I'm just sitting there. Then then to convo gets good then I stop, etc. lol
Anyway, I wanted to know do you guys post or have an area where you let others know where the good stuff is? Meats, hides, bones, etc? I have this avi and another. The other is my fighter. He's not been able to go out and make much money as he's always out looking for the best stuff for me to use in my nuts for chefs.
Ok, wont babble. That's my ? for the day...I think ... for now anyway

There are a myriad of sites that have resource databases (www.swgcenter.com, www.swgcraft.com , swg ranger, etc) but I find IMHO they have problems. What good is a 3 to 4 day old resources (posted as 1 days old) if it's going to shift in 5 to 6 days?
Personally I do all my own flora surveying and mining, and count on my guildies to get me the good creature resource spawns. I believe that makes the difference between an 85 BSN BE and an 87 BSN BE. The later is willing to take the time to survey all flora resources on every planet, the prior is only willing to take the best that he can find when someone tells him about it. This is just my opinion though, some people find surveying boring and I can empathize with that. You gotta find your niche in the game and go with it.

For Wanderhome swgcraft.com is really good about being up to date for flora resources. For organics it may lag by a day or so sometimes.

I gather. I do most of my own resources. But sometimes I really really don't have time. I'm a mayor as well. And I spend a lot of time in my city, is why I asked. I get a lot of good info. Have a guy on our server, SS, that is a kick butt resourcer. He sends out a weekly email with what's % high and he gives the stats on them.
I was just really wondering if there was something here. SWGCraft stinks to me too. Been there and half the time the stuff is a few days old :/

if you're really concerned about staying up to date with resources, there are interplanetary survey droids that can check the organics on other worlds for you

See I'm still rather new to all this. And for the most part I am very serious. If I wasn't Politician and didn't have to stay close to the city, I'd do all my own surveying. But as I said, at times I'm just far too busy with giving zoning rights working with some of the newbies in our guild and making sure our city is up to code and no slackers doing whatever they want to do, na mean?
So how do I get this interplanetary droid or use one or seek one out?

talk to a DE, naturally =)
they can make you crates of ISDs. I've never used them personally, but from what I tell they work like seeker droids. You use one up, send it off, and about half an hour later it sends you a report. I know a few DEs stock crates of them on their vendors too, if you dont have a resident MDE.

They just tell you the names of the resourses on the planet and use up a survey tool as well. Might as well travel to the planet then you know the stats as well if you aren't using swgcraft or some such web site.
