Hi folks,

I'm currently building a template of Master Carbineer / Master Creature Handler with Medic 1004 and Novice Bio Engineer.

Doing this leaves me with 15 skill points to spend, that being the case what skill boxes are going to be most useful for me to take? I'd like to be able to make my own Pet Stims and Vitality Packs, to look after my creatures, but is it worth it to only get the lower level ones? The option i thought is go BE 4000 and be able to Make Gurreck's - but without decent experimentation are they going to be worth using at all?

I have only just considered this and am totally, green to the BE profession, but I tihnk it could be a great support prof to my template- just a matter of working out how

Thanks,

~Smokemare

TBH if you can only take 1 line then you'll need the DNA sampling line, without it, no matter what skins you have or how many experiment points you have you wont be able to make decent pets since you wont be able to sample much about CL11 or 12

You mean above CL 11/12 ?

How about BE 1110 ? That would leave me 2 points to throw at Medic for first aid 1?

I want to be able to make Pet Stims and Vitality packs - so I need 0100 right ? So what if I plumped for BE 0130 ? I'd only be able to make low level pets sure, but I'd be able to make my own low level Pet Stims and Vitality Packs and the Low Level Pets'sI could make, wouldn't be of too bad quality ? What do you think?

TBH if all you want is pet stims then your time would be better spent fishing or collecting dathomir insect meat for a BE to make them for you.

15 points are simply not enough for BE. You have to be able to sample creatures for DNA, but getting 0/0/3/0 means you can sample, but you wont be able to experiment much on your pets, and you wont be able to make any decent pet stims.

all the crafting profs - WS, AS, DE, Chef, Architect, and BE, as well as crafting Docs and CMs- are only really worthwhile if you master them. Its an all-or-nothing proposition =)

No matter what you do with that few skill points I don't think you'll be able to make a creature fit for a noob, much less a MCH. If it were me I'd probably put those points into more scouting or more combat.

*sigh* You're all probably right.... I'm currently CH 1113 Carbineer 2311 Marksman 0044 Master Artisan Scout 4040 Medic 1000

My thoughts for something to aim at was :-

Master Carbineer

Master Creature Handler

If you don't know Carbineers really need a bit of Medic and I've kind of accepted that I have to drop Artisan, now I got the badge for it, it doesn't seem to be that good a money spinner prof and I don't think it helps support me that much - it leaves me with 52 Points to spend. So I thought I have to Take Medic, but Medic above 1000 isn't awsomely useful anyway until you hit Master, but then it occurred to me - I can healmyself okay - but I have some of the requirements to be able to heal my own pets too? There' aren't many BE operating on Tatooine, Starsider I don't think so It would have been nice to be able to support myself a bit better.

But you're all sure it's not worth it?

I'm working my way up the BE field and even with Average Quality DNA, I have a hard time making a "Really Good" Certain level pet. As far as the Stim's, they are not all that great, I need to get more experimentation and other boxes filled before I try to market them for sale at all. It's bad enough I have Master Marksmen and I will have to dump it comletely to get Master Chef/Bio Engineer/ Creature Handler 0004. It doesn't leave very much for combat, but I guess a level 20 pet isn't so bad compared to a CDEF Rifle.

You can still heal the Action and health pools of your pets using regular stims - the advantage pet stims give you if they are crafted well is that they typically heal a bit more damage, don't require med skills, and also heal mind. Plus, if you're a master CH, you can have 20 pets stored. If one gets damaged, put him away and use another one for a while. Pets heal rather rapidly in the datapad.

Otherwise, just hunt around. Eventually you'll find a BE that will sell you some pet stims. Check the urban sprawl around Coronet and theed that most servers seem to have. A good petstim-B will heal a nice amount of damage. C's are better yet, and D's are almost non-existant.

Sure, you can create pet-stims at novice BE, but without experimentation, they're going to be pretty weak. BE, like all other crafting professions, really needs you to be a master to get good value from it, as was mentioned above. This is particularly true when making stims, as they are the most experimentation-sensitive. At 0004 you get 7 points of experimentation, and at master you get 10. If you've ever been an elite crafting profession, that's a HUGE difference. That's the difference between average and great.

I guess if I were you, I'd put a few more points into Medic, buy a few decent stims and pet stims, and be a CH/Carbineer that can really heal themselves.

Since you have the points to go up more medic i would go up the med use tree and be able to use the hgher stims like stim c's and then buy some good pets stims . I am a BE on starsider and i have many pet stims outside of coronet waypoint in sig.
