I'm sure many of you making tissues have noticed that Doctors now use many of the meats that we and chefs use and that many, many scouts have started using the pricing guide for meats on the Ranger Forums.

Truely, BSN's and such are no longer a viable money making scheme due to thesechanges at my usual price of 22cpu per +

A while back, and unfortunately I did not stickey it, a Math person posted a guide on pricing.

It was a sliding scale for pricing 85-89 BSN's and the other nutrients based on resource quality and difficulty.

I think it was in answer to a question similar to this...and i cannot find it.

To non Bio's, yes 22cpu per plus is a whole lot of money, yes I probably am buying meat in the wrong places, so you just run out and collect me 300K of any meat with 2600+ OQ,PE,FL and sell it to me cheap..KK?

After talks with a lot of chefs on how much they were selling things for to understand their profit margines, considering I harvested most of my own flora, and finding a decent rate to pay my suppliers for meat, I had a reasonably good price scale worked out.

Meat: (0.5*OQ + 0.3*PE + 0.2*FL) / 33 = cpu

As I deal in high-end nutrients, I wouldn't want anything under 20 cpu. A perfect meat comes out to 30 cpu. No I won't get all the business, but I guaranteed to pay it, and it is still good money, so my suppliers often prefered selling to me rather than track down a higher priced buyer.

Flora: Harvest your own if at all possible. Look for low-cost deals if you need to supplement your stock. Pay attention to the best resources on swgcraft and jump on them.

A rough "cost" estimate a chef used for himself was 30 cpu for meat and 10 cpu for flora. Mind you that was costs, he still charged much more than that, whereas I use that as a break-even point. Still, I found that a little high, so I adjusted it to set a base price for 55/85/115 nutrients:

MN (55) 20k
BSN (85) 30k
INN (115) 40k

+2k per point above this base
-1k per point below this base (usually special order or dry spell only)

This allows me to pay a good amount for meat so I always have a stock, and my meat suppliers felt they were making enough so they didn't need to sell to doctors at 100 cpu. I cut some costs by harvesting my own flora, but I can also afford to buy top-notch flora if I need more. My profit is good, but still nowhere near what a chef gets.

If I was capable of harvesting on my own, I could either lower my prices further or take that in as profit.
